Question about Radio Communications

1 Answer

Fm transmitter I recently bought a fm transmitter manufactured by iwave to synchronise with my i pod. While I am able to synchronise it I am not able to make out how to keep the transmitter on. It has an auto on-off button and it shuts itself off after 10 secs. I wanted to know how can you enable it to remain on for the a considerable amount of time while you listening to the music. Thanks

I want to connect my ipod to the radio

According to Apple, over 90 percent of new cars retailed in the United States are equipped with iPod connectivity.
The iPod has become such a popular device, that many car stereos are now furnished with a 30-pin dock connector cable in order to link to the portable media player.
But this built-in compatibility is not essential for connecting your iPod to your car stereo. In fact, there are numerous options for integrating your iPod with your car.
Recently manufactured vehicles can support an iPod connection through an auxiliary input.
And FM transmitters can be used to stream your iPod's audio files through an FM frequency. iPods can even be connected to much older car stereos with the use of a tape adapter.

Connect an iPod to a Car Stereo Through the Auxiliary Input
Insert an extension cable with 3.5 mm stereo connectors on each end into the headphone output of your iPod. Insert the other end of the 3.5 mm stereo connector cable into your car stereo system's auxiliary input. Press the "Aux" button on your car stereo. Turn on your iPod and select media to play. The stereo will now stream audio from your iPod. b> Connect an iPod to a Car Stereo With an FM Transmitter Insert the FM transmitter into the 30-pin dock connector of your iPod. Turn on your iPod to activate the FM transmitter. Select the FM frequency you want your device to stream audio to on your car stereo. Turn on the car stereo and tune it to the same FM frequency as the FM transmitter attached to your iPod. The stereo will now stream audio from your iPod. b> Connect an iPod to a Car Stereo With a Cassette Adapter Plug the jack connector of the cassette adapter into the headphone output of your iPod. Insert the cassette into the car stereo. Turn on your iPod and select media to play. The stereo will now stream audio from your iPod.

I JUST BOUGHT A iwave fm transmitter. UNFORTUNATELY I THREW AWAY THE INSTRUCTIONS, MY CAR STEREO PLAYS MP3 FILES,BUT DONOT HAVE A USB PORT, DO I NEED A STEREO THAT HAS A USB PORT, TO USE THIS TRANSMITTER

You don't need a usb port for mp3 playback, simply burn some mp3 files to a cd - not like an audio cd but a data cd (drag and, drop and burn the same way you would burn pitures to a disk) you will find that you can fit 5-10 whole albums on one disk.
Enjoy & good luck.

I bought an iWave FM transmitter and it says to select the frequency 87.5 on my radio but I could not find this radio station it starts with 87.7 and could not make it play my mp3....how can I solve this?

There is no 87.5 on your radio so that frequency won't work -- you have to pick another frequency. Find an open frequency on the radio you want to transmit to. Then use the up/down buttons on the right to tune the iWave to the same frequency. That should do it. If you want to save that frequency on your iWave you press and hold the round button at the center bottom of the unit. The left/right arrow button on either side of the round button can be used to click through your saved frequencies. It's not very complicated, but it baffles me that they include no instructions whatsoever with this unit. Otherwise, it works pretty well.

Garmin Nuvi 660 - how do I get FM Transmitter firmware

I believe in your location it comes as an option. transmitter is an optional module. You can browse the user manual at following link (PDF file) http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/1262_OwnersManual.pdf
You can see at 35th page, simple instructions have been given for FM transmitter settings.

If it doesn't work please contact to the Manufacturer. I couldn't find Garmin's Ireland number. However you may call UK number +44-870-8501242. Or simple you call your reseller.

Good Luck
