My Dremel 300 came without any instructions, so I had to puzzle out how to use the circle cutter. None of the images I managed to find on the Web or elsewhere were any help. I directed my attention to the "spike" on the circle cutter, and eventually I realized that it was on the wrong (top) side of the cutter--perhaps for safety's sake. When I removed it and positioned it on the bottom side of the cutter, things became clearer. The next thing was to locate the correct cutting edge. I had never used Dremel before, so I didn't recognize the cutting "bit", since it looked like a drill bit. The final problem was how to attach the circle cutter to the Dremel tool. I couldn't see any way of fixing the cutter to the tool. I thought perhaps there was something missing--a connector, perhaps. Eventually I found a reference on the Web to "removing the cap" on the tool. I hadn't noticed a "cap", but when I gave it a turn, it began to unscrew, so I knew I was in business. Finally II tried the attachment out on a piece of scrap timber, I found that it worked. A simple instruction manual would have saved me a lot of time. Also, I now discover that the Dremel 400 would be much more useful than the 300. Dremel don't seem to be very customer friendly. I can access the US site, but the UK and Germany website won't let me in!

How do you attach "multipurpose cutting kit model 565" to the dremel multipro model 395?

Remove the collet nut and collet then unscrew the sealing cap (black plastic ring), this has the same thread as the inner of the multi kit tool, so just screw on the tool then replace the collet and nut

How do I attach tools to my Dremel?

hello. You loosen the arbor at the base of the shaft closest to the tool. There is a tiny wrench in the kit that came with the dremel, or you can use a pair of pliers to loosen it. Joe

I have a job of cutting through fibreglass and need great precision and at all different angles. Do not want to spend a fortune. Can you recomend anything please?

If you have compressed air, several options are available. The best cheaper tool (less than $50) would be a "die grinder", with diamond encrusted bits. The bits come in a range of sizes. Small electrical type kits with a myriad of attachments are only good for very small jobs as they don't like fibreglass dust at all.

How do you attach cutting wheel to the bit?

You need a # 402 bit. This comes with a screw on top that detaches and goes through the hole in the cutting wheel (very small hole). Then just re-attach it to the bit and you're in business. Depending on the particular cut-off wheel you're using, the wheel can be extremely fragile. Even though it will cut steel, it is brittle. ALWAYS wear safety glasses when using a cut-off wheel particularly, they will inevitably shatter and go flying!
Probably best to go to a local hobby store, buy a few bits for $10, and pick the owners brain about the tool.

Cutting wheel installation

Do not use the threaded bit. You need a mandrel that has a tiny screw on the top. Take the screw out and thread it onto the cutting wheel and then screw it back on. My book says its mandrel #401.
