You can approach the problem three ways:

1) Install and run a registry cleaner to remove junk files and to keep your registry in shape. Junk files (not vital to the computer's function) can slow down your computer.
2) Use a defragmenter to arrange your files.
3) Uninstall applications that you don't need.

This will definitely speed up your computer. It is recommended that you do this at least once a month to keep your computer in good working condition.

I have a cd I put in, but do not know how to remove it from my computer need help

1. Open the Computer window on your PC: Either double-click the Computer icon on the desktop, or open the Start menu and choose Computer.

2. Click the DVD drive icon: Clicking the icon selects that drive.

3. Right click on it and choose 'Eject' from the drop-down list.

OR
Try the following only if the above steps didn't work or in times of urgency, such as when the computer is locked up (or turned off), you can manually eject a disc/cd by pushing a straightened paper clip into the tiny hole (the "beauty mark") on the front of the DVD drive.

How not to fix a power supply

If for some reason your computer's power supply fails, here are a few tips on what NOT to do!
  1. Don't Open it
  2. If you open it, DON'T TOUCH THE TALL ROUND THINGS
  3. If you want to know what those "Tall round things" are, they are capacitors.
  4. Power Supply capacitors hold their charge, for a very LONG time...
  5. Don't touch 'em, you'll die.

Sound volume is too low. Can barely hear dvds, on line video or through headphones.

I don't know if this works in other operating systems, but if you havewindows 7, right click on your volume icon in the system tray area.Select Playback devices. Right click on your speakers (should have agreen check-mark on them). Select Properties. Go to the Enhancementstab. Check "Loudness Equalization" and Apply the changes.

Hello nikki_silver,
The best thing to do in this situation is a System Restore.

To perform a "System Restore.
" Follow these instructions carefully, and you will have no problem at all.
The first thing you want to do is click on the "Start Button,paul7of9_50.jpg" from the Desktop.
Next, click on "All Programs," scroll to find "Accessories," next select the "System Tools.
" You will see in the next window that open, "System Restore!

paul7of9_51.jpg

"Now this is very important!
Once you click on the System Restore "shortcut" it will start to look for the last known time of a change in your computer.
The System restore can take as long as a 1/2 an hour to run, so be patient.
"Do not try to do any type of work, don't even touch the keyboard for any reason,
just let it run!"
Once the System Restore finds the correct "Date and Time"of the event;
choose the Date closest to the time of the occurrence.

In your case it will be the deletion of the "Webcam."

.paul7of9_53.jpg

Now once again, there will be a message telling you not to do anything with the computer,
and please don't.
The System Restore will "run" for a while, so once again be patient.

paul7of9_52.jpg

The computer will then "Shutdown and Restart."
Lo-gin if you have to; but!
Do not touch the Keyboard once the Desktop window open, because System Restore is still running.
Wait! Until there is a message letting you know the Restore of your System was successful!

Take your time.
"I hope all goes well, please let me know if you need further assistant.
Best Regards.
Thanks for using Fix'Ya."
