Try buying a universal card reader. They're cheap and work fine.

Why do you not use a good Image recovery software. Just format your card once in camera itself. With the help of Image recovery software you can recover your images from formatted memory card.

IF the images are lost (can't see them thru the camera), format the memory card (Photo mode button - Set - Format). These cards need to be reformatted frequently. I do it once a month, but I'd recommend it once every 500 pictures.

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Mac won't recognise canon drive

First of all, do not save any new file to camera's memory card.

Take out memory card, and connect it to a Windows computer using a card reader. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in Windows Explorer.
Download this camera photo recovery software
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/
Install and open the photo recovery software, select the memory card, and click 'Start' button.

Trouble downloading photos to computer

Forget your USB cable Jill. Buy a card reader that reads xD cards (Fuji have one on their website for £4.88+£3.00 P&P, or I picked up a multi card reader from Jessops for £13, which says what it does on the box - ie, can be used for other picture cards beside the xD card) Remove card from camera, fit in the relevant slot on the reader and plug into a USB port on your computer. Your computer will automatically recognise new hardware, and the magic task box appears after a few moments inviting you to "Copy files to your computer", etc., and off you go!

DO I HAVE TO USE A USB DRIVE/MEMORY CARD,OR CAN I JUST USE THE XD,SD,MMC CARDS. MANUAL STATES TO COPY FROM A PC TO YOUR PHOTO FRAME INSERT A USB DRIVE/ MEMORY CARD INTO THE PHOTO FRAME. IS THE USB DRIVE...

You can use whatever the frame supports and has slots for. If it only has a usb port then you can use a usb drive or get a usb card reader for the card format of your choice.

If you get me the manufacturer and model of frame I may be able to determine what it supports.
