I have a Toshiba L355D-S7825. I run Windows 7 on it. I want to update my graphics card to Shader 3. Will my computer support this? Is it motherboard compatible? What's a good card with this...

The shader 3 mode is a inbuilt option that is designed within the graphic cards (i.e. intergrated or slotted cards). This function usually use for high graphics gaming for PCs. You cannot upgrade the Graphic card to get this Shader 3 options for your Laptop. The best options you can do is to update the drivers & DirectX to the latest for your laptop "ATI Radeon™ 3100 Graphics" intergrated graphic card.

Hope it helps.

Can i change the video card on a vaio VGN-NS240E? I have integrated video but would like to upgrade to something that can handle games. Anyone know how?

I'm sorry. It is not possible to upgrade the Inbuilt Video card. However, the Computer is shipped with the Express Card/54 slot. You can contact your nearest favorite dealer to get the Express Card slot supported Video card and install in the Computer. This improves the Graphic performance.

I keep getting a "cant create D3D: D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE" when i try and play a game on my acer laptop. i've never had the problem before

Laptops were'nt really designed to play games on, even though they are getting better with proceesing speeds and memory, the graphics on laptops even though good dont always allow for 3d rendering, so if the game has to use it the graphics will throw a error message, if gaming is your thing you would be better off building a pc rather than have a laptop, its highly upgradable and you can choose what spec ie cpu speed, memory, and graphic capabilities, laptops are in my opinion a space saving sollution, not a gaming device.

You could try to upgrade the driver for the graphics card it somtimes works, to do that you will have to go to my computer and right click, go to properties and into device manager, find your video card and right click, choose update driver, use the internet option. it should find an updated driver for you be patient it take a few minutes to find. hope this helps.

I want a compatible video card for my pc

This sounds like your computer may be several years old and the hardware a little outdated. It will depend on the game since today's latest games require not only 3d-acceleration but super fast acceleration as given by "NVIDIA" or "ATI"'s latest graphic cards.

If you are running a relatively simple game, you need to see if your computer uses which type of graphic card connector.

In the old days it was PCI, then came AGP and later PCI Express.

What the above will tell you is which 3d graphic card type to buy. You can get a graphic card at newegg.com or lots of other places varying in speed and capacity.

I would like to update the graphic card in my computer

PCI Express cards can be expensive, as you've noticed. They are the fastest video cards out now, and you pay for the speed. The link below is for a moderately priced card, $129.99. There are other less expensive cards available. I have purchased from this site for years with good success. Check it out at:

Good luck, and please let me know how it works out for you.

My1 gb ram didn't make any change even in games in my pc even those games which used to run at a particular speed earlier before the added ram are running just like thet speed even after adding 1gb more...

Ok, let's explain this. RAM does not necessarily make your pc faster.
Your pc can be faster if you upgrade your CPU or graphic card(only graphic application will make you notice the increased speed in graphics).
RAM can be a bottleneck for application that need a lot of memory like photoshop when working on multiple very high resolution images or 3D cad when working on large assemblies, or VMWare.
Vista manages the RAM in such a way that you might notice a slight performance increase and less disk usage during standard desktop activities, but XP doesn't.
if you don't use very many applcations at a time and/or you don't use memory consuming applications, the added RAM is not used at all and your computer won't be any faster than it used to be.
Video memory is basically the same. you will notice a difference in performance from a large video memory(512MB-1GB-2GB) only if you game at high resolution like 1080p or higher, usually supported only by large monitors like 20" or larger.
