Hello, I am stuck between a rock and a hard place over an arm to a set of glasses. I have a good friend that had her glasses on a table and after I picked them up and attempted to put them on my face (wide head) and one of the arms seperated from the a small piece of metal that held it to the hinge on the frames. This piece is what holds the arm to the frame and connects it to the flexing hinge. The frame were purchased less than a year ago and are the Candie's Eyes C ROSANA Eyeglasses BRN/PK BROWN PINK and I only need the left arm to correct the problem that I caused. I have a friend that works at lenscrafters as a technician that said many times shops have parts from defective glasses or can provide you with the proper contact to get such a part. I am a broke college student just needing a little help with advice or a part :) Edwin

Best bet is to hope warranty is still good and should be replaced free of charge if purchased less than a year ago.

Ge profile self-Cleaning oven: how do I clean between the glass door. Where do I take t apart?

Hello Patricia
Oven doors by their design are very difficult, almost impossible to open then re-assemble. Not advised.
However, for the brave-hearted, oven doors can be open, eg to change a broken spring etc.
This involves dressing in protective gear as glass fiber wool insulation inside stove and door casing is very hazardous.
Strip half the stove to get to the hinge/arm mountings, unbolt so that door & hinge-arms come free, lay face-down on newspaper.
Using brute strength, unscrew Philips screws which have stuck solid from years of baked fat and heat.
Lift carerfully and try to avoid itchy glass fibres.
Glass inspection hatch insert may have stuck to silicone seal so press until it falls free.
Clean glass & re-assemble all in reverse order.
Trying to get the hinge-arms to line up while holding the heavy door is the most difficult part.
Can lead to stress, premature ageing....
Hope this helps :)

How do you reset sunroof in a 2001 Monte Carlo with 3400 model I

check fuse and relay if good than possible motor ot track problem their should be a mechanical bypass that will let you close it if stuck open the following information is courtesy of monte carlo forum
To check the condition of your original sunroof guides:
  1. Gl*** in closed position.
  2. Locate & remove 3 torx bolts on each side of sunroof glass. Lift glass out of sunroof opening & set aside in a safe place.
  3. Locate "J" shaped cover plate at front of sunroof track assembly. Remove 2 torx bolts from each cover plate.
  4. Lift up bracket to remove.
  5. Inspect the plastic guides on each side. The sunroof cables attach to guides on front outer corner. Inspect this area closely for damage.
  6. Do not operate the sunroof with the J plates removed.
Troubleshooting:
If the sunroof guides are not broken & the glass is a uniform height along the rear edge your problem may be a stripped gear inside the motor. The motor has a manual override:
  1. Get access to the motor by removing the map light/switch console or lowering the front of the headliner.
  2. Insert a large standard screwdriver into the nylon bushing at the center of the motor hub. Push up & turn the screwdriver to manually move the sunroof glass. If the unit will fully open & close manually, you most likely only need a replacement motor.

If your sunroof is stuck in the open position follow these steps to get it closed:
  1. Remove the glass.
  2. Try to close the unit without the glass. Many times one side will still be operational and close correctly.
  3. Try to slide the inoperable lift arm forward. If it moves, slide it forward until it stops.
  4. You now need to slide the original plastic guide forward to lower the arm to the closed position. Using a standard screwdriver, push it forward. The lift arm should begin to lower.
  5. If the lift arm will still not fully lower, remove the J plate as explained above, sometimes the sunroof cable will need to be lifted up to allow the guide to fully slide forward.
  6. Reinstall glass.

Imaginarium Mountain Rock Train Table assembly

None of these are for the Mountain Rock Train Table. Instead they are for other sets. I'm also looking for the Mountain Rock Train Table instructions. Not the Mountain Pass set. They are different.

My Rock Ola 100cd "Nostalgia" Juke Box has a problem: the cd will not turn at all when it is placed on the 'turn table' by the arm. I cleaned the piston on the grabber arm which was not picking up the cd....

Check that all the voltage indicator lights are lit on the power supply, and check the connectors going to the player to be sure they are tight. Otherwise may be a bad player.

Rear wiper arm broke took nut off and the piece of old arm that broke will nut come off

Hello plong.

Couple of ways to remove the arm off the taper fit.
The best way is to use a puller designed to do the job. This may need to be purchased at a good automotive tool supplier.
Or if you would like to try it with out the tool, place the face of a large hammer on the outside of the arm and then tap with a smaller hammer on the opposite side. This will vibrate the arm and break the taper....But if the assembly goes through glass you run the risk of breaking it if you hit too hard or slip.
Another option is to cut the old arm through the same direction as the wiper motor shaft using a tool such as a Dremel with a metal blade.

There are a couple of suggestions for you.
Thank you for using FixYa.

The water isn't fully coming out when brewing a cup of coffee and won't fill the cup. I am maybe getting 1/4 cup of coffee

Hello,

what you will have to do to solve this problem is that you will have to do self cleaning on the coffee maker

however, (not the bathroom one) is a handy item to use to clean coffee residue off the inside of a glass coffee carafe.
  • Does your pot have hard to reach areas? Use a wooden chopstick with a paper towel to get in there.
  • You can put ice cubes and a little water(enough so you can swirl it around) in pot and swirl them around, for harder stains put some table salt in pot and swirl it around for a few minutes and then rinse.
  • Put a glass marble in the water chamber to attract mineral deposits from hard water. Wash it once a week.
  • For tough stains, scrub the pot using a paper towel or clean (not soapy) dish towel. Rinse thoroughly.
  • To clean just the pot, do what many restaurants do. Put about two cups of ice, 1/4 cup of rock or table salt, and 1/4 cup of lemon juice (bottled or fresh is fine) and swirl around the pot. Measurements are not that important, just guesstimate. Be sure that the pot is cold before you try this, or you may break the glass pot.
  • Clean a brand new coffee pot prior to using it for the first time.
  • Never use the coffee pot to pour water into the reservoir. This will transfer oils and impurities from the pot, and eventually give the coffee a nasty taste. Instead, use a pitcher that is reserved for water only.
  • To keep the inside area around basket, filter, lid area clean (from coffee ground spatter) simply place a SECOND filter over the top of the grounds in the FIRST filter. Push second filter down so that spout will clear top of second filter (on many makes of coffee makers) as lid is closed. This keeps interior in pristine condition and doesn't take much time or expense.
Thanks for visiting our site good luck.

My maytag dishwasher is not cleaning properly. when the cycle is finished i find that the detergent did not disolve and rinse away. Instead I find it in a hard crusted lump on the bottom of the machine....

This means the bottom cleaning arm is not spinning. Most arms are removable, one large nut or some plastic fingers or a release. Remove the arm and clean it out. There is likely food, glass or objects stuck in the arm. Broken glass can be really stuck! Watch your fingers!

The turn table does not turn

Hello,

Since you didn't state the brand and model, I can only speculate that the spindle /turntable drive may be bound up or worn. Depending on the brand, you may be able to get replacemant parts to fix it but you will need to provide brand/model info on a repost.. If yoy remove the glass turnatble and the roller set... can you place a glass of water on top of the center spindle and run the micro for 20-30 seconds? While it is running.. does the glass rotate? If not... you may have a turntable drive motor failure... Need more info next time you post to assist you more accurately..

Good Luck

My rear wiper does not touch the glass on my 04 4runner. How do I tighten or make it touch glass?

It has obviously been bent. Put the wiper arm in the correct "off" position and observe any space between the blade and the glass. Next pull the arm out so that it is away from the glass. Using two sets of plyers or vise grips place one on the flat shaft next to the mount. Place the other about one inch away and bend the arm toward the glass. NOTE A small bend will make a lot of difference so bend very little, release both tool replace the arm in the standard position and check to see if yoy have bent the arm enough. If not repeat until it works properly. DO NOT bend it so that the pressure is more than you need or your wiper blade will wear out very quickly.
