Question about IBM NetVista PC Desktop
Generally speaking, for the IBM NetVista, you need to hit the F1 key. The trick is hitting the right key at the right time. Usually, you want to hit it during POST (Power On Self Test) when the IBM logo is showing. If you're still having trouble, try this. When you turn on the computer, start hitting F1 repeatedly. Keep doing this until your operating system starts to load. If you haven't entered the BIOS and the operating system starts to load, restart the computer and try a different key. Keep repeating the process until you find the correct key that lets you into the BIOS.

Try to clear your CMOS first before entering the BIOS. Refer to your mainboard manual on how to do this. If you have no manual, you can usually find the CMOS key near your mainboard's battery. Remove the jumper cap (the black thing connecting two pins). Be sure to remember which pins it connects. Using a flathead screwdriver, ground the bare pins together by having all of them touch the side of the screwdriver. Reattach the jumper cap to its original position. Boot the computer and access the configuration settings.
