I have the same problem: I'll turn on the camera and all functions are normal except the fact that you can't see anything on the screen under the video or still image options. I've already gone through the menus to try and find a solution but still with no luck.

My SONY DSC-T1 camera display is balck when trying

There may be the issue with the CCD (image sensor device) of the Camera.

Refer this article to confirm this:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/news-item.pl?mdl=DSCT1&news_id=161

Check whether the LCD screen of the Camera looks similar as given on the page.

If yes, click on the "Yes" button at the end of the page to create an online Repair Request for sending the Camera to the Sony Factory Service Center.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi. This is a common fault on the DSC-T1 and is due to a faulty CCD. If you take it to a sony shop, they will send it to sony for a free repair (mention to them it is a common fault, and that you expect a free repair). They will send it off for you, and in a few days you will get your workingcamera back.
