Use a pair of needle nose plyers to push back the ring and just pull it has to come off but if you are repl the valve then just use a sharp nife and make a smooth cut and cut it off

No water comming through my ge profile artica

Sometimes the water line freezes in the door. You may have to open the door for a time. If you can find where the water line goes in the door. there is a connector where you can disconnect the water line. this is a push connector. Push in the ring around the tube and pull the tube out. Press the water dispenser for a second. if water comes out the tube if frozen in the door. If not it could be the water valve. Push the tube back into the connector.

GE / Hotpoint S xS Refrig: Will not dispense water

Remove lower grill and disconnect the water line going through the freezer door hinge. Usually it is a push lock fitting, which requires you to push the ring on the end of the fitting toward the center of the fitting while pulling (not hard) on the plastic tube. Now place a pan under the separated plastic hose and try the water dispenser. If water comes out, your problem is a frozen water line in the freezer door. A warmer freezer temp may help, or you can order and install a WR49X10173 water tube heater. (the heater may take 24 hours to thaw the line, but I have used it successfully several times. Cost about $50) If no water comes out the separated tube when you try to dispense water, reconnect the tube at the hinge by pushing the plastic line back into the fitting. Now, at the back of the refrig., disconnect the water line going from the water valve to the fresh foods compartment. Try to dispense water. No water at valve outlet = bad valve. Water dispensed from valve now = frozen water filter or water line at back bottom of fresh foods compartment. (make sure you disconnect the right tube. If in doubt, disconnect them both, just get them back correctly so your icemaker continues to work) Send me additional comments if needed. Don't rate before you try all the steps.

How do I remove the door with water dispenser from my Roper Side by Side Refrigerator

Turn water supply to refrigerator off and get a pan or towels to collect what water that will spill when disconnected. On each end of the quick connect coupling is a ring hold the coupling tight with one hand while pressing the ring towards the center of the coupling and then pull the water line out. When replacing the water line trim the part of the water line off where the ring was before or the line may leak once you reattach the water line. Press ring towards the coupling to remove and simply push the existing line after trimming into coupling and pull tight. The grip inside the coupling will lock the line in place. If you have questions please let me know, Thank You Sea Breeze

Comment by MNTECH, Sorry, didn't notice that I put an extra zero in the part number. It should be a WR49X10173

Why am I not getting any water from door dispenser for model GSS23KGSA BB

Pull refrig out , and remove the back panel . At the water valve (piece the wall water line connects to , push up on the white ring and pull the LARGER line from the valve . Activate the water dispensor and see if water comes out of the valve . If no water , replace the complete water valve . If water comes out , reinstall the hose by pushing back into valve , and remount valve and rear panel . Push refrig back into place . Remove the bottom kick plate and disconnect the water line about 6" under front , from the coupling (pushing in the ring and pulling hose ). Press for water again . If no water comes out , probably frozen resevoir behind the refrig crispers , so turn refrig temp slightly warmer for a few days , to unthaw (or use hairdryer) . If water shoots out from hose , then water line inside door is frozen . This would be a more difficult procedure to follow . You can try adjusting freezer temp slightly warmer for a few days to see if it will thaw . If it doesn't thaw , come back to this thread with " water in door frozen " and myself or another expert will be glad to help you .
