Question about HP Pavilion a1130n (PX769AA) PC Desktop

1 Answer

HP Pavillion A1130N

My desktop computer gives me a white screen with horizontal lines at start up or after I've been using it for a while. Has been doing this some times now but wasn't happening very often. I'd would just have to reboot but now it seems to be happening more frequently.

Out of no where my computer just stops (power stays on) and the monitor goes white..sometimes with blue/black/red VERTCAL lines on it. if I am watching a video that stops as well.

I don't know if this is a virus or what. It's not the monitor because it happens to all monitors attached to computer.

It is happening 1-4 times per day and is killing me and ruining my work due losing it as the computer stops. I have to hard reboot every time

I have Windows XP, HP Pavillion a1130n desktop with AMD 64 Athalon..

Carefully give your monitor a quick slap on the top or side, NOT like you would hit an assailent, but more like you would hit your brother if you were kidding around with him. If you get a positive outcome from the slap, you have located your problem.
I'm assuming a CRT type of monitor. Probably the monitor has either a bad connection inside it or is simply dying from old age. Vertical Deflection grids supply voltage so that screen stays full top to bottom. If the output of the VDG is abnormal or missing, you will experience the horizontal line across the screen.. Unlikely to be the video card on the computer, generally speaking intermintency is not a common problem with video adapters, not to say that it couldn't happen,

It sounds like you're describing the BIOS screen. This is an image that appears whenever the computer first starts up, and only lasts for a second or two, after which Windows begins to start up. Unfortunately, it's not possible to stop the screen from displaying; it's an important part of the boot process and allows technicians to enter diagnostic screens if necessary.

Hi on HP pavillion a1130n I cannot get my keyboard to respond or function

If you have a spare keyboard that you know is functional, you can try connecting it to your PC.

If a known functional keyboard does not work, there may be a problem with your PS2/USB port that your keyboard plugs into.

If you are brave enough to go into the BIOS or SETUP in your computer, you can check if there are settings there for your keyboard as well.

Where is the system battery on the hp pavillion 533c

Without the mother model/type it's impossible to tell you where the Bios Battery is located. But there's not much difficulty, generally only two types of alignments, as shown below, horizontally on the motherboard and vertically : a74f1de.jpg
Vertical,

Horizontal.

Savedump.exe error

Hi there
Savedump.exe is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32. The file is a Windows core system file. The program has no visible window. savedump.exe is a Microsoft signed file. Therefore the technical security rating is 4% dangerous.
Some malware camouflage themselves as savedump.exe, particularly if they are located in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder. Thus check the savedump.exe process on your pc whether it is pest. I recommend Security Task Manager for verifying your computer's security.

If you want to get the full potential of 64bit processor then you will have install XP X64 and yes i'm sure SP3 will install.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!
