Remove the SD card from the camera. Slide the tiny slide switch on the side of the card to its other "unlocked" position. Reinsert the card and try it out.

I have a locked disc message across my view screen. Camera will not work. carol

If that camera uses an SD card, there is a little switch tab on it, this prevents data from being written to the card, check the card switch.

Why in the screen view "card locked" ?

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Shot A 530, and it appears in the display the notation: "Card Locked On" I can do to unlock

I guess that your memory card is an SD type. These cards have a little switch on the card that can write protect or "lock" it. Take the card out of the camera and check this switch. To unlock it, it should be moved towards the edge of the card which has the electrical contacts.

Can't help with the camera- sounds like it has a fault.

The photos, however, should be recoverable by putting the memory card into a card reader on a computer.

Camera is not taking out no pictures on display screen marks memory card locked

It sounds like the memory card has its little locking switch in the locked position. Take the card out of the camera and move the small switch on the side of the card to the opposite position. Re-install and you should be good to go.

Card locked

Your card might have a tiny "switch" on it that you may have slid into the locked position when you were installing it. I have media for my Fuji camera that has this feature. Take the card/chip out, and see if you can find any movable bits. (I hope you figured out a solution before the December holidays.)
