SOURCE: Base station and units all say 'searching'

You may need to register your handset to the base.
Normally ,there is a advanced setting ,register handset. At the same time, press and hold "page" key on your base 4 to 5 second , there is be a registation success tone from handset. You can register all of your handset ,one by one. Some model need to input register code, normally ,it is 1234 , or 0000.

I just got a 3rd handset for the same phone system and were having the same error message,,, the at&t help line does not know what it is,.,. We returned it once and got another one because of the same problems, and were still having it.. AT & T help line said to return it again and try another one .. then he actually said to replace the whole phone system .. thats easier said than done! we paid 199 plus tax on the system and then another 81.00 for the third handset!

SOURCE: VT 2461 Won't let me register new handset

Rosehello's solution worked with one additional step for my handsets...After re-programming all of the 4 handsets, I had to unplug the base unit one more time and then it reset. Until that time it would only show"AL" and would not function.

SOURCE: my phone keeps saying unable to connect

is your phone about a year old? It may be the battery. The vtech phones have weak batteries that clunk out after about a year and you'll get dropped calls, looking for base etc... The phone still appears to be working and the battery indicator tells you it's charged, but the battery is too weak to keep the wireless connection going.

Had the same problem and replaced the battery. budgetbatteries.com had the cheapest ones. But it's a knockoff, so I don't know how long it will last. So far it's been 3 months and the problems are gone. I would try that first and see how it goes. I paid about $15 including shipping. If you buy it from vtech it's at least double...

My magic box columbo cordless phone will not register with base. I just says searching constantly and when you go into menu,it wont even let me reset the handset.

perhaps Cyrstal(component) for linking handset with base is damaged in your phone, u need to check with a technician to find exact fault n repair.

but for not linking issues, mostly pairing Crystal/chip is damamged or erased so both r not able to register

Can I use Philips CD240 CD245 handset on a philips dc445 base

Simple answer yes they are compatable I just did it as I could not find any CD445 handsets. The manuals are downloadable from Phillips just search for CD445 or CD245 manual.Just press speaker button on 445 base for 5 seconds untill it beeps twice, then on new 245 handset menu/ register enter default code 0000 and bingo its live. Oddly the newer handset bases are 9v and not compatable with 445 bases which are 6v and have different contacts so you cant sit your 245 in the old base.My new 245 came with a new base anyway so no problem.

Handset won't work

I went through this exercise with a Siemens Gigaset 8800. The solution is to DE-register the handset first. Then register it with your base. This function can likely be accessed in the handset menu. The phone you purchased is apparently still registered to the previous user's base.

Philips CD240 2nd phone wont connect - keeps saying searching

Hi, I solved this issue this morning. What you cannot confuse here is that handset and base. To do the registration successfully, the both must be in "Registering" mode. First, to get the base in the registration mode, you have to press <page> (a paging function for handset in case you cannot find where they are - usually button that says <page>or speaker with sound symbol on the base) more than 5 seconds, then the base is in the "Register Mode"(though you will hear no beep). You can then go through the procedure you describe on the handset and the handset should beep with assigned number no more than 10 seconds after it flashed "Waiting". The above, however, works only if the Base is still functioning. In my case, sadly, the base was more likely dead (if I press any button on the base, i.e. answer phone etc., there is no response). Hence I went and bought a new cheap GAP compatible BINATONE 1800 Single at Comet (14.99). I then set up the base, put it in the registration mode as per the BINATONE instruction. Then on the Phillips CD240 handset and gone through the above registration procedure... and Voila! It worked. Now I have a brand new base that came with 1 handset of its own, and 3 additional CD245 handsets which are all registered with this base. So far, the sound quality is good and they retained all the telephone numbers registered with the handset. The BINATONE base came with 12 months manufacturer's guarantee so I am sorted with the base problem for at least a year, which is nice. I hope this is helpful. Best, Ken

Philips SE6551 phone problem - I bought this last week from Argos, worked fine, girlfriend threw box away which had receipt inside it. 3 days later, the answerphone lights have gone off and the handset...

I guess you need to register it with the base unit. I have the same unit and havn't faced such an issue. But I am sure that this will sort your problem. It will be in setting and network/advanced settings. Go to register cordless and register it with the base. You will then see a small coloured icon on the screen, like a network tower, so you know that you are paired with the base unit.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

How do i reset philips voip4332b ip phone base unit to company default.

This should solve your problem:

1. On your phone select: Menu > System > Base Select

Select "Auto" and press "ok"

2. On your phone select: Menu > System > Register
(you might be prompted to enter a PIN if so the default is "0000" )

3. On the base station press and hold down the  "Page" button for 4-5 secs until the green light starts to blink. At this point the phone should be now able to find the base station.

Philips CD130 Cordless Phone User Manual

registering again didn't work for me. I used the following steps
1. close the handset (long-press red button)
2. discconect the base unit from the power source
3. reconnect to the power source and long press the intercom (the only button on the base unit) for 5 seconds.
4. turn on the handset (long-press red button)
with 2 seconds and it will be connected again.

hope this helps.
