Never use a chemical solution to clean your laptop as it would destroy the coating and cause it to fade. Just wet a lint-free cloth to wipe out the dirt. I found 3M lint-free and highly absorbent wipe useful in cleaning my laptop.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My acer laptop screen goes black after i pass the log in screen

What you can try to do is hit "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Delete" which should open task manager once you've reached the black screen. Click "File" from the menu bar and then "New Process". Type "explorer" in the box, and, Voila!, you should be able to see things again.

Sadly, this is indicative of a virus or corruption of the operating system. I'd recommend backing up all your stuff and then tapping "F8" while you're computer is turning on, hitting "Enter" on "Repair my Computer", clicking through the dialog box, and then select the "Acer Recovery" option. This will wipe everything back to factory defaults.

Unfortunately, I don't have specific instructions for this exact model of laptop. However, if you watch these movies, you might be able to figure out the logic of how to get this done correctly.

Can't remember password

BIOS password remove alternatives:

1. Reset Password BIOS via Backdoor BIOS Password.
2. Reset Password BIOS via Software.
3. Reset Password BIOS via hardware.
4. Reset Password BIOS via default manufacturers.

OK, here is my guide to Remove Acer Bios password computer via Software. This has been done on testing machine Laptop Acer Aspire 3620/ Travel Mate 2420. Anyway, I'm not sure it will work on every Acer PC/Laptop so just consider to do at your own risk, I’m not responsible for any damages caused by this guide.

As we know most of Acer computer (Laptop & Desktop) allow us to setup BIOS in Microsoft Windows (9x/XP/Vista) environment. Great, this is the powerful that help us to remove the BIOS password cuz all we know if we enter Setup Utility at the boot time we have only three times of filling the password and if all wrong then the system will halt.
The program helps us to enter Acer BIOS setup in Microsoft Windows is “Acer eSettings Management” which comes with the CD when we buy Acer PC/Laptop. If you lost the CD then just come to Acer website to download the program.

Laptop doesn't show up in acer listing

Probably the model number of your Acer Aspire 3620 is already discontinued or placed into their archive files. Also, possibility that such model was produced in limited quantity & distributed only to a certain location like in the Philippines. I suggest to email them for your concern thru service@acer.com.ph, for their customer service & support. best regards

Acer Aspire 3620-factory settings

Acer's ship with the factory recovery built into the system. As long as this has not been deleted you should be able to do it.

Click and Start - > All programs

and look for Acer Empowering Technology

Inside that folder there should be a few different programs (dont' have my acer here so i can't remember the names exactly). One of them will allow you to reset from the harddrive and another one will allow you to make your own recovery disks. I would do this first as that way you have a disk that you can put away in the closet in case your harddrive ever dies and needs to be replaced. If that is the case you NEED the disks as the new harddrive would not be setup to do it for you.
