Question about HP Officejet 6310 All-In-One InkJet Printer

HP Photosmart C5180 Printer Carriage Jam Message

I have tried everything I can and even used Technical Support through HP. The only option they have given me is to repair the machine by sending it in. I left for a vacation for about 3 weeks and returned and the error was no longer there for about about a week. At that point the message came back on and has not left. Do you have any suggestions on how I could fix this problem?

    I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. CAN'T SEEN TO DO ANYTHING TO CLEAR. WHEN WE PUT A FLASHLIGHT INSIDE THE PRINTER CAN'T EVEN SEE THE CARRIAGE, AND HAVE CLEARED THE PAPER JAM. WE HAVE UNPLUGED, AND TRIED TO LET IT RE-BOOT, TO NO AVAIL.

If you already followed these instructions, the last thing to do is to service the printer. I don't know of any self-fix options for this printer. It's worth validating that you've already completed these steps as described.

Cannot clear CARRIAGE JAM on my c5180


There are a number of things that can cause a carriage jam. To prevent it from recurring, one should keep in mind a number of things. Always ensure that the paper tray is not overloaded as this might result in the paper being stuck inside. Also the paper being used should be as per the manufacturer's recommendations. Turn off the printer when removing bits of paper. If there is a broken gear, do not repair it yourself. Call an expert technician to mend it.

after closing the cover and removing the jammed papaer does it still says "paper or carriage jam"????

if it still prompts you that theres a jam and you've already removed it, try to turn off the printer, disconnect from its connections (pc and ivr or ups or wherever its connected) wait for like 5-10 sec then connect it again...

hope this resolves ur prob...

ive experience it to with my hp j3500 all in one... a paper jam, this is what i did and i think it worked for me... hope it do to your printer.. ciao!

Hello,

For the cartridge jam, that means that either the ink is not properly installed or there is one tiny piece of something blocking the sensors. Same is true with the carriage jam.Please try to look for small bits of paper and remove it.

Is the ink newly installed?

Paper jam


Open your printer and look carefully around the paper feed. Take out any torn peices of paper and try again. Try telling the printer to print a page without paper, and see if you get the same message, or if it changes to an ' out of paper' type message. If so, load it up with paper and see what you get.

HP Vivera printer won't print


Take the cartridge out and clean the head with dry cloth and reinstall than then try.
also go to menu on the printer and out it back to factory settings.

Carriage jam issues on hp printer


So sorry to hear that you are having issues with your C4385 printer. HP's All-In-One printers seem to be very touchy when it comes to carriage jams, and mine is no exception. They are usually caused by little bits of paper left over from a previous jam, so you just have to work out where to find them. HP produced a page with diagrams to help people find them. Carriage jam


I don't have the same model, but I do have three hp photosmart machines here, and I usually reach in and grab the carriage and give it a little pull and push, once it has moved it will then go to its place. A word of caution, turn off the printer before you try this. Then turn printer back on after closing lid. I think I learned this from one of the manuals or their web site.
