i have been told that it is because it has something to do with the fact it only plays 1.0 sisks (or something like that). If I update the firmware will it work? This is the only HD Blue Ray disk I have that wont work. I am afraid any other new titles that come out wont work either. It has nothing to do with the lens.

this is what I have read "Only Blu-ray Profile 1.0 compliant, so it will not play some bonus features on some new discs in 2008"

If I update the firmware will it help?

When the lens of the device is faulty nothing can be done.try another disk in this device.and also try the disk in another device.you can come to the conclusion.the disk is faulty or the device is faulty.but if device is faulty.its a scrap because the lens will be very much costly to get it replaced as it cannot be repaired.

pls do rate the solution

thanks.

Will not play green zone blu ray movie just keeps looping on the menu screen but will not give me any options

I had this same problem with my LG BD390 player. I discovered (through an internet search) that the problem is caused by some kind of BD-Live feature during menu-loading. By switching off the BD-Live function of the Blu-ray player (temporarily) the disc will play normally. At least with my player it did.

Try another disc. If that doesn't work, it could be your player.

My Samsung BD-P1400 is frozen on "load" and disc tray won't open

My player worked fine couple of days ago, then last night when powered up, message was "load" and it stayed like this forever, and tray open would not work. Tried everything, nothing worked. Left unplugged from power for 24 hrs and bingo everything worked as should. I suspect that the unit is still trying to load info from last disc which I stopped in the middle of some bonus material, even though the disc was no longer in the tray.

Samsung bd-p1400 will not play certain disks

My dark Knight DVD was only playing the first 4 screens and I burned the firmware upgrade to a CD. It took about 20 minutes from the time I inserted it for it to be complete, then it stopped at 4 again but took about 30 seconds and it began to play perfect.

Problem with Wall-e Blue Ray movie

i would say the problems comes from the way the company formatted the movie onto the blu ray discs. and i would say that there will most likely be a recall on them. if anything connect the manufacturer of the movie. hope this helps you.

Black Bars on all blu ray movies

Hi icmjrtdr,

Having black bars displayed when watching a Blu-Ray disc is a common occurrence, even with a widescreen television.

You may have heard or seen aspect ratios of 4:3 or 16:9. 4:3 is the ratio of a traditional television that is nearly square. 16:9 is the ratio of most widescreen televisions currently marketed. The reason that even with a 16:9 television Blu-Ray discs are displaying black bars is that many of these discs contain footage that has not been reformatted for television. The screen in a movie theater is even wider than 16:9, and rather than trim the ends, most Blu-Ray discs maintain the entire picture.

Depending on the options available in your particular television, you may be able to find a zoom setting that trims the ends and removes the black bars. It is up to you if you would rather see black bars with the entire picture or lose a small amount of the picture on each side for a full-screen experience.

Hope this helps,
Jason,
