The dealer said the warranty was only good for six months.

  • linakamm Sep 04, 2008

I bought new batteries and the dealer tested the microphone with a new set of wires. Still not working.

  • linakamm Sep 04, 2008

Can't find anyone in Hawaii to service the microphone without them charging me almost half the price of what I paid for the microphone. Clicked on your listing and everyone is on the mainland u.s.

I'm still looking for someone in Hawaii to service and repair my microphone.

Magic Sing products don't last long
Common problem is it just die out

Costs more if you try to have it repaired, manufacturers website don't even show up in Google's result

If the fault is only the microphone, and it works with a different microphone, you can just replace the microphone, the price for a replacement microphone is generally not too expensive.

You should also contact factory to find out how long guaranty cover is. Many chinese manufacturer do not provide support at all, but if there is any factory guaranty cover, that should last one year.

To find out warranty term, contact factory here.

As long as it is not working you can also try a Compatible wireless microphone for duets/backup singers for Magic Singalong Microphone ED-8000 and ED-9000.

Unfortunately its main board may has a cold solder or bad component and troubleshooting and repair costs more than replace it
Good Luck!

    See also correct installation instructions:

    1. Connect Magic Sing RCA cable to a TV 2. Connect cable to Magic Sing (when you connect the cable, please make sure the arrow on the cable points to the top)

The arrow on the cable jack must be in line with Magic Sing key pad. Insert with minimal force. If it is in correct position, you will hear click sound when Magic Sing is successfully connected.

    3. Use with Power Adapter: Connect the power adapter to female cable adapter jack on RCA cable.

Use with batteries: Open the back cover of the microphone and add 4 x AA batteries (Alkaline batteries).

    4. Turn on the TV and set the channel to video (external input) mode.

    5. Turn Magic Sing power ON.

    6. When TV displays picture, select a number of song, Magic Sing is ready to start the music. When you press start/stop button once, Music will start. When you press the button again, Music will stop.

    7. You may find microphone functions in product summary page.

    8. If there are only two input jacks on your TV (mono TV), put the yellow plug into the yellow jack and put the red or the white jack into the other jack.

Hi,

Two possibilities other than those posted:

  1. defective/corroded battery contacts/wiring. It may be needed to clean/scrape or bend/stretch the battery contacts to provide more pressure to the batteries;
  2. defective on/off switch.
Both are relatively easy to repair but of course would require a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Get it replaced if under warranty.if the circuit board in the device is faulty.it is worth getting new.
check batteries if the battery is over replacing the battery may work.

if it suddenly stopped without any physical damage happened to the device it could be the battery or the moisture on the main board.replace the battery and get your device serviced.

pls do rate the solution

thanks.

Did you check the battery of it and did you use a new one?
where did you bought that and is your device covered with warranty?
if it has a warranty then send it back for a replacement or repair service.

The microphone does have warranty. unless you bought this as used, you should get it replaced or repaired.

I know it sounds silly, but have you replaced the batteries? Do you have your receipt still? Maybe it is still under a warranty of some sort? As for that dealer, maybe he could let you exchange it if you have a receipt?

2-second delay with Magic Sing

i bought et18k. just the same as yours.its 2 days old and has the same problem. the technical assistant says that its because of the digital setting that new tvs have. there are two ways to solve this though:

1. connect the video (yellow plug) to the tv. and the other two plugs (yellow and white) to the stereo. when i say stereo, its not the dvd home theater system that you have but a separate one. if you connect it to the home theater that you have, it'll just sound the same, you still have the delay.

2. connect the magic sing to the older tvs hangin out. and you'll get no problem at all.

**TVs such as sony, samsung, philips, sharp and all plasma tvs including other newly designed tvs will have the delay since they all share the HDMI thingy that causes sh*t.

ED-8000.

You can not because the songs are in different format. the only thing that you can do is to use recording chip, insert in magic sing, record some songs or record your singing then upload it in your PC using the download manager CD and USB cable

the unit comes with a cd download manager (window XP) and a USB cable. the you can uploaaad your recorded songs in your PC.
