    JD Model L120

4 yrs old - only 140 hrs on it. Numerous starting problems. Have replaced gas cap twice - common problem they say. Transm. has been replaced as has battery & fuel pump.

Worked for about 1 hr. then blades stopped.

Blades will not engage. No blockage - blade will move manually, deck is clean. (Stopped while running). Went to JD service to pick up new electrical piece. . ...did not fix problem. Can only think now that there is short in wiring.

Mower has been down most of ownership time. A definite lemon or pooooooor quality mower. Problems began occurring first week of use. Mower is clean, well-serviced. Has been garbage - a total waste of money (purchase plus repairs). Would not recommend this model to anyone. JD service in my area is of no help.

    Does anyone have a solution?

John Deere L110 Mower wont engage

Depending on which type of PTO you have the problem could be simple to diagnose... if you have an electric PTO, you may be dealing with a bad switch... if electric, you should have good tension on the belt at all times. If it is a lever that you push/pull to engage the blades, then it would seem that the tensioner pulley is not applying the required tension on the belt... could be a broken spring or a worn/slipping belt (not enough tension)... hope that gives you somewhere to look into...
