My SD Card whiped?

Just plugged it in, took it out safely, and everything i did was whiped. I didn't get to put it on a back up because when i tried to upload the pics and videos it said "Access Denied"

So in short 2 problems from very bad to least bad:

1. SD Card whiped
2. "Access Denied" when trying to download videos.

First do not panic! It is possible to recover your pictures if you take care. Take the card from the camera (powered off) and if it has a "write protect" tab then lock it now. Do not try and write anything to the card or you risk causing more problems.

You can either plug in you camera to the PC as it should appear as a “Removable Drive” or put the card in a card reader attached to your PC.

Next, if you are comfortable with using a PC then you can download a FREE utility that will recover your photos from the following link:

http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec

If you need something a little more "user friendly" then you will need to buy the software. If you search the web for photo recovery software you will find many.
One I have used successfully is RescuePro that used to be bundled with some Sandisk products. Now you can get it from the link below:

http://www.lc-tech.com/software/prwindetail.html

You can try the demo to see what you can recover before buying.

Remember - Do NOT try & write anything back to the card until you can recover your pictures to your PC safely!

Please take a moment to rate this solution & let us know if the information given was useful to you – Good Luck!

When i remove the sd card to upload photos to my computer my new pictures are not there but are when the sd card is in the camera?

There are two possibilities that I can think of. 1) The SD card is full. You will need to copy the pictures off the SD card and onto your computer, then format the card. You can probably do this in the camera, but MAKE SURE you have copied the pictures you want to your computer because the format will erase everything. 2) The SD card is write protected. Look closely at the SD card there is a little slide switch that "locks" the SD card so that your camera cannot put any pictures on it. This slide switch must be in the unlocked position (or NOT locked).
Hope this helps.

Can i transfer the internal memory to an sd card

Yes.
Put the card in and turn the camera on. Press the MENU button. Select the Setup menu (wrench icon). Select "Copy".
Full details are in the "Copy: Copying Between Memory Card and Internal Memory" section of the manual (page 112 in this edition).

Most probably the problem is in SD card. Please try a different card to check. Also perform scandisk on this SD card to check for errors.

Took sd card out to put photos on computer. put it back in the camera and it only says no image when i tried to look at them. they are still on sd card cos they show on computer xx jv100 camera xx

I suggest that you make sure that you have successfully copied the photos to your computer from the SD card and then use the camera's format feature to reformat the SD card for the camera.
There's really no reason that you need to keep all of your photos on the SD card all of the time. As long as you backup your pictures and other data on your computer regularly, they will remain safe.
I found that the directions to format the SD card appear on page 75 of the user manual for this camera (click here for manual).
Thanks for using FixYa!

When you took the card out of the laptop, if you forgot to use the "safely remove hardware" function, the card most likely became corrupted. To restore it, you need to format the card in the camera. This will erase it so I hope your pics are safely on your computer.
