The speakers of my lap is not working that is i can't play videos in vlc or in other players.... the sound doesn't come........ but i can hear through my headphone....................

Close all apps you are not using, video playback needs the full attention of the CPU and RAM.
Go to app store and install VLC player. Play your videos with that. VLC is also an EXCELENT media player for your PC or laptop. It plays EVERY video codec, and I mean EVERY video file that has ever been invented :-)

It seems you don't have any codecs... The problem is not in windows media player.
Just install a codec pack like http://www.free-codecs.com/download/codec_pack_all_in_1.htm

VLC is an open source media player. It will play cd's and dvd's and it will play videos that Windows Media Player has a problem with. VLC comes with drivers and codec and i've seen it solve issues with audio and sound that Windows Media Player had a problem with.

If you've check the Audio and Sound properties in the Device Manager then maybe the speakers are shot. Click Start/Control Panel and look for Sound or Audio and check the properties and settings. You can also click the Megaphone at the bottom right near the time. Make sure the Volume is turned up and not on Mute.

You can look on ebay and purchase replacement speakers based on a HP DV6000 Speakers search. You'll have to take the laptop apart to install them.

You could try downloading and reinstalling the Audio Drivers.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HP Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Audio drivers.

If you've check the Audio Sound Properties to make sure the volume is turned up and not muted, then your speakers might be shot.

Try downloading and installing VLC for OS X and see if that doesn't play the videos for you.

Another way to be able to play videos of varying CODEC types is to install Perian on your Mac, which allows you to play these videos without having to install another program like VLC. You can get Perian here:

It is probably because your media player doesn't completely support the file type of the videos taken from your mobile phone.. Try VLC media player, it can play different types of media files (including 3gp whcich is normally the type of videos from mobile phones) You can download it for free from this link:

Hi there! It sounds like a codec issue. The easiest fix for this is to download and install VLC Player from here -> http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ Try to play the video in that program. If it doesn't work, chances are the video is bad and you should download another version of the same clip! Hope that helps Alex
