After a power outage, the tv wont turn back on. was hoping there is a fuse that may have blown.

Hi Michael,
Yes there is a fuse in your TV too and sometimes you do escape with a blown fuse after a power outage. Please open if you can the back cover of your TV, locate the fuse. If you do not see any damaged or blown parts, replace the fuse with the same rating. If the works, enjoy watching. If the fuse blows again, the power board needs to be repaired or replaced.
Good luck.

HOw to replace the power fuse in a OCOSMO LED TV

There is no replaceable fuse.
If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

I blew a fuse and everything in my room, computer, playstation and the tv turned off. When i switch the fuse back on, the computer and playstation was working but the tv is not. Is there a chance that I...

Hi Jonathan,

Yes, if there's no LED light at the front panel of the TV, this is an indication that the power supply is not working (I'm assuming that you've already tried to plugged it in to other working outlet). First thing to check is the internal fuse of the TV. If you found it open, replaced it with same current(ampere) rating and try to power it on again. If the new fuse blow again this is an indication of more serious problem in the power supply. You may replaced it with a new board or seek for an assistance of a qualified TV technician to troubleshoot the board.
If you found the fuse intact, still the same problem(power supply board).
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

Tv at standby mode blown fuse fu120 2.5A.What next to do?

Hi,

Unplug the TV from the power point.
Replace the fuse with the same value 2.5Amps
Do not put a higher value fuse in there because if there is a fault it may damage your TV.
When you replace the Fuse, plug the TV back into the power point.
If it works great, then it may have been a faulty fuse or power surge.
If the TV doesn't work then you may need a TV Technician to check the TV.

I hope this helps you.
If so please leave a vote or comment.

Have a Great Day

I lost power in my house. I cannot get the TV to power up. Is there a reset button? what do I have to do to get power on the TV? All the other components linked to the TV are working.

Now,there is no power to the tv at all?Yes.Tries tv unplug, replug it back like about and hour later. That the resetting tv back to the factory setting. The tv now should be working again. If tv still have the same result,tv power supply board have problems, that the board, where the power a/c cord plug into it.Check the tv power supply board fuse, because u lost main power to the house. If u lucky, the tv power supply board only have a dead fuse, fuse is near where the power a/c plug, plug into tv to get it power.Fuse can buy it anywhere like Radio Shack like $1.50.After u repalced the fuse,if tv still getting the same result, than sorry ur whole power supply board have problems and it is dead.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Heard a pop then screen went blank. Now TV wont turn on.

Sounds like your fuse.

If not the fuse in your plug, then the internal fuse in the TV. to get too this you need to open the TV by taking off the back plastic panel and look at the fuse.

the fuse is the glass tube on the board, will no doubt be near where the power cord connects to the TV. and are easy to replace with another fuse. you will know soon as you open it if its blown as the little glass tube will be blackened or the little wire inside the tube will be missing or severed.

Fuses in TVs are actually designed to blow over time with ware (usually to last a bit longer then the warranty time frame) so after the cover has ended the TV can go in for repair work at extra cost. Its a little known fact.

Will not power up, something popped yesterday, and it lost power and will not come on

The fuse might have blown. Could be various reasons. Unplug the TV. Place the TV down on it screen (on a SOFT FLAT, UN OBTRUSIVE surface). Remove the back panel screws and the panel. There will be a fuse, it is likely blown. Replace it with a fuse of the EXACT SAME amperage (it will be stamped on the fuse [example 5A is a 5 amp fuse]). Replace the back panel and carefully tighten all the screws. Replace your TV on it's stand. Plug it in, and turn it on with the remote. If it works, great. If the fuse blows again, you have a more serious problem. Do not attempt to fix it yourself, it could create a fire hazard. Seek a repair shop.
