E-9101 is a cd mechanism error - either your loading motor is damaged, or your cd transport assembly is damaged. In either case, you'll have to take it to a service center for repair.

Cd drive wont open or run cds

Try re-seating the cables on the CD drive and where it connects to the motherboard.
Reboot the computer and go into the BIOS and check if the CD drive is detected. If the CD drive is not detected in the BIOS then the CD drive is faulty and needs to be replaced.

The problem is with one of the capacitors, Sony can replace it for you at a cost of $80. This error can come, if we click photos continuosly, the capacitor may get heated up. We need to give a gap of 3 to 4 seconds. Time to be given for the flash to get recharged after a click.
Just give a call at Sony help line. 800.222.SONY, they will replace the capacitor.

If its worth the cost, go for the repair, or you can use the device without flash by disabling the flash. At setup just disable the flash and this error wont show up again.

I KEEP GETTING ERROR E9101 PLUS ORANGE LIGHT KEEPS FLASHING WHICH WEARS THE BATT. DOWN FAST HELP PLEASE

Hi!
It's flash problem - could be a dead flash fuse or flash board. You should contact your local Sony service center or if they ask too much, you can contact me at toms.rammsteins@gmail.com. If you have a multimeter and you're ready to open it and test the fuse, contact me.
I work in a Sony service center.
