Question about Palm IIIc Handheld

1 Answer

Outlook does not synch with handheld

My Palm IIIc worked fine on my previous computer, which ran on Windows XP (Home). I have installed the software (and updates) on my new computer, which also runs on Windows XP (Pro). Now I cannot get MS Outlook to synch with my handheld during HotSynch operations. I've checked my conduits, etc. I'm the only user of the handheld and the computer. What have I missed? Thank you!

Have you downloaded the outlook Conduits? Have you downloaded the outlook Conduits from the CD? I had a similar experience recently to discover that I hadn't completed the installation. Hope this helps

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Synching Vx handheld w/ Palm desktop 4.1 AND Outlook 2k?

Are you trying to get your data in both Palm Desktop and Outlook? Are you saying that you wish your data to synch three ways - between your handheld + Outlook + Palm Desktop. This is not an entirely tenable strategy as it is impossible for synchronization software to understand what it would mean if you altered the same event in both Palm Desktop and in Outlook. If you need to keep a copy of your data in Palm Desktop, PocketMirror has an advanced feature for making onetime backup copies. Open the Chapura Settings dialog, choose your username and then tap on Settings. You will get the option for each of the Outlook conduits to make a one time backup of your data to Palm Desktop. This is a really useful feature for making sure you have an offline copy of your data outside of Outlook.

Want Microsoft Outlook to dominate - two computers

Update dominance in Palm Desktop app. Figured it out! Go to the Palm Desktop application. Click on HotSynch, and then Custom. On each of the four Outlook conduits, click "Change", and specify that desktop dominates, if desired.

Can't synch Outlook Calendar Appointments

Try uninstalling with Windows Uninstall Clean-up tool. XP seems to do a poor job of installing conduits sometimes. I think this might be an issue with the one conduit no being registered correctly in the Windows Registry. You can get this tool here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=290301 Uninstall Palm Desktop. Then shut down the PC. Then start it up again and re-install Palm Desktop. I hope this helps.

Cannot SYNC Outlook Calendar and Contacts

Probably one of these issues - your data is there but you are looking in the wrong place. I am trying to sync my outlook calendar and contacts via Hotsync on a Palm IIIc. It gives me the status of OK, but nothing shows up on the Palm. I have set the custom on Hotsync to desktop overwrites handheld, but still will not work. Thanks.

Hotsync with two computers

I just posted a similar kind of problem. With my old M105, this worked fine - Outlook on my work computer, Palm Desktop on my home computer. When I upgraded to Zire 31, I saw that message about 2 computers once during the past week, but never again. I was thinking about using the Install CD again on my work computer to see if there is an option for synching between 2 computers. (synching to 2 different computers seems to be the most reliable backup for one bad synch)

I have PalmIIIxe. Is there a way to sync with Outlook using my PDA?

Yes - the software was included. Your CD software allows you to select synch with Palm Desktop or synch to Outlook. As long as Outlook is installed on the PC, the CD software installer will see Outlook and offer you this option. So the answer to your question is - reinstall the software and take the option to sync with Outlook when it is offered. PS just in case you have Outlook Express, this is not the same things as full Outlook. Outlook Express requires third-party software for synchronization of its email database and of its addressbook (actually Windows Address Book WAB format).
