I believe, if I think this is what you want to do, you double click the Sync icon in the toolbar, Click on the type of info, Click on Options and then remove the check mark from the data you no longer want to sync.

HARD RESET

Here is how to perform the hard reset:
With a hard reset, all records and entries stored in your handheld are erased, except for the default or specimen databases predefined by the manufacturer .Formats Preferences and other settings are restored to their factory default settings. You can restore any data previously synchronized with your computer during the next HotSync

Hard Reset

Hold down the power button on the front panel of the handheld.
  1. While holding down the power button, use the reset tip tool (or similar object without a sharp tip), to gently press the reset button inside the hole on the back panel of your handheld.
  2. Release the reset button.
  3. When the logo screen appears on the screen, release the power button.
  4. When the message appears on the handheld screen warning that you are about to erase all the data stored on your handheld, press the upper half of the scroll button on the front panel of the handheld to complete the hard reset and display the Digitizer screen.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Handheld Calendar Does Not Sync

Is KsDatebook compatible with Palm? Palm suggests only two programs to sync calender files with Microsoft Outlook and the one that comes with the TX CD.

Lost calendar on hotsync

The information is unfortunately lost.

Unless you synced the palm on another computer, the palm only can back up the information when synced.

So if you sync it and the computer overwrites the handheld, the information never made it to the computer and thus cannot be restored.

The only thing you could check would be the backup folder in the palm directory under your profile name. Palm puts all of the .prc/.pdb files in there when you sync.

Lost all contacts, memos, tasks, after LifeDrive Update 1.0

This morning I downloaded LifeDrive Update 1.0, and when I did a HotSync afterwards, I got an error message saying, Handheld Tasks application database version not supported. Handheld Notes application database version not supported. Now my contacts, memos, tasks, calendar entries and possibly other items are all gone!! This is the core data that is the reason why I use a PDA! I would be totally distraught, except that the data does still seem to exist in Outlook on my PC. I am running Outlook 2002, SP3 on a WinXP machine. Can anyone help to fix this problem? thanks,

Connection is lost (6410)

First open the HotSync custom menu, start changing conduits to do nothing. Work your way down the list until you end up with a complete HotSync. If you still have the 6410 error, unplug the USB adapter, replug and try your HotSync again. The USB adapter may be the week link in this equation.

Original sync worked all others failed with 650 and Outlook 2003

I was ready to give up completely. Uninstalled, reinstalled, nothing worked. Here is what I did to resolve sync errors: 1. Perform a hard reset on the Palm 2. Go to the Palmone folder on your hard drive (C:\Program Files|PalmOne. Look for the Backup folder. Rename this folder Backup Old. 3. Connect the Treo to your computer. 4. Right click the Hotsync icon in the taskbar and click Custom. Change the four Outlook conduits (Calendar, Contacts,Tasks,Memos) to Desktop overwrites Handheld. 5. Run a Hotsync with the Treo. It should sync without errors. If you need to install additional applications you can add them now. This worked for me. I hope it helps with your errors.

Corrupt Date Book Fixed

Updated Instructions Simple fix for a corrupted Date Book sync error (at least it worked for me on my Treo 650). 1). Turn off 'Show Calendar Event' in the Phones 'Options - General Preferences' menu. 2). Turn off phone. 3). Set the Date/Time to the maximum limits (12/31/31) in Preferences. 4). Open the Calendar and view the maximum day 12/31/31. 5). Select 'Purge - (Delete events older then 1 week)' in the Calendars Options menu. 6). Reset the Date/Time to the current day in Preferences. 7). Hotsync (Desktop Calendar overwrites handheld). 8). Hotsync again to make sure you don’t get the error (Synchronize the files). That’s it. =============================== Outlook Calendar The attempt to open the database failed. Date Book application database is not found. Sync fails with "too many open databases"

This is what I did to fix that error:

Hard-reset your Palm to erase all data (that usually involves pushing the small "reset" button on the back, then pressing the "power on" button until the device boots, and then pressing "up" to confirm the hard-reset)

After that, sync your palm. The sync software will ask if you want to use your existing profile or create a new one. Create a new one. Then the program will offer to sync your Outlook profile with your Palm. Click on "ok", and a message asking you to accept to sync your Outlook data with more than one profile will pop-up. Click on OK, again... and that's it!
