OK ..first open the back lid..and look for any paper leftovers...and after that do the same on the front cover...Move the carriage left and right and look for any tiny paper blocking the carriage ...If all seam to be OK ...than proceed for reset ..The reset can be done as in this video ...in more than one mode..
I suggest to try the 3rd reset on this video ...the partial on e...and if it not works ...try the hard reset as follows...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31TbWMrTaFk
With the printer on ..remove the power cord....and wait about 5 minutes..
Press the # and the 9 (or #and 6 for some ) while reconnecting the power cord...
hold on the buttons until the printer powers on ..and displays the resetting ..
Strange ..cause the last hard reset ..with the # and the ( pressed while you plug it back ..should reset it to the factory defaults..
anyway ..I found this ..forum that offers another approach on the issue ..and it is worth to try it ..cause it is not invasive ..
read it carefully ..and try a few times..it might work ..and what it says about the sensor not detecting the paper it makes sense..
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-print...
if nothing worked..I think you have something misplaced or damaged from that paper jam ...and this is not a matter of software ..You will have to get to the repair man with it ..cause I do not see any further solutions..
You may try to strip it a bit ..and put it back ..maybe a sensor is stuck and cause this reading ...or try again with the paper..and be faster in canceling the job ..
Im sure there is a simple physical issue but from the software part of view..we have tried all ...so it must be something physical ..and for hat you should have it opened..I repeat ..even if it has no damages..it may be just some piece misaligned or a sensor stuck ..and opening it ..and so ..may make it work ..Anyway after each time you remove something and put it back ..make a hard res4et ..and print an alignment
I understood that ..tthis is why I sugest to open it if you think you can manage and clean and check all the pats ..maybe it still has paper jammed inside or something else..it is for sure a physical error cause any other case should been reset by the actions described earlier..

Sorry, but none of these worked. Current message on printer is: There is a problem with the printer; refer to printer documentation; Press OK button to continue. Still has "printer error 0x61011beb" on the printer.
It did take the paper, but then went right back to the error message.
Thanks for your help. I have tried every suggestion from on-line sites, videos, etc., but nothing works. Seems to have gone from one problem to another.
Or, it may just be worn out. Even though it is only about 1 1/2 yrs old, I do make a lot of copies. I may just buy another one. Probably the main problem is that I'm electronically challenged.
I'm not sure I will be able to correct the problem, but drifterk has been very helpful.
