My whirlpool duet electric dryer makes scortch marks on my light colored clothing. I've tried cleaning every part I can think of in the dryer drum but it still does it. What could be causing

Look for exposed metal on your drum. It should be coated with a protective surface. If part of that surface has gotten chipped then that is the cause. I believe there are repair kits for such problems that use an epoxy/teflon mix that you apply to damaged areas in the dryer

When I take my clothes out of the dryer some of them have blackish marks on them please help thanks

Make sure the drum is properly seated. If the drum sags, clothes can get caught in the gap on the bottom, then pinched when the gap closes on the top. This can cause grease stains on the clothes, or worse, can tear them.

If the drum sags, check the drive belt and drum support rollers.

Your drum seal between the drum and the body of the dryer needs replacement, this is what causes the clothes to stick and tear holes in them.
I hope this helps

My crosley dryer is making a terrible scraping noise. I lifted the top of the cover off and could see the drum. There are several scrape marks in a few spots. Obviously it is rubbing on the bottom. What is...

The first thing to check is whether there is something caught in the drum rim (both front and back). Feel around the circumference of the drum in both places for a piece of clothing or pocket item jammed in there. If all is clear, then most dryers have drum glides on the front that will wear. Those aren't expensive and not that hard to replace for the mechanically inclined. A bad rear support roller is also a possibility. To replace it , the drum will probably have to be removed. Drums aren't that hard to get in and out, depending again on your mechanical ability. Hope that helps

Black marks gets on clothes as if they're getting caught in something.

Our Hotpoint DLL2650 has the same symptom. A bearing has been squeaking for over a year. Now one of the drum rollers makes a grinding sound against the drum. I suspect the drum roller has come apart.

Clothes getting caught between drum and front of dryer

Hello Friend, This problem is real common in Hotpoint/GE dryers. Your solution is simple. You need to replace the front drum bearing and glider pads. It's actually pretty simple to do. Just remove front of dryer cabinet. After removal just look at backside of dryer front around the inner door. You will see where the dryer drum has turned and wore a hole in the plastic piece above the dryer door. This piece is called the front drum bearing. Just unsnap this piece and snap in a new one. Be sure to replace the little plastic glide pads onto the top of the drum bearing before re-installing the dryer cabinet front. The front drum bearing and glider pads are sold seperately so make sure you have everything you need before you begin. This should solve your problem. Happy to help, Tim. Thanks.

You need to check the drum where it fits into the front door/front housing. If the housing is worn close will get caught and tear.
