I have a Kodak Easyshare M763. It has discharged it's battery over a period of useage. Now that the battery has become discharged it won't charge from either the power supply of a usb computer lead. There are no lights showing whatsoever.

The camera has a one-year manufacturer's warranty. Assuming it didn't fall into a lake or ocean, or was abused somehow, Kodak should replace it. You didn't say which camera you have, but I had this happen with a Kodak M-series camera and they replaced it at no charge.

I bought it last year, but now it seems there is a problem with charging the battery. It only charges about 22 seconds then it stops, I have to keep eyes on the camera when it is charging, when the green...

It sounds like the battery is damaged and needs to be replaced. If it charges far too fast and discharges far too fast, a few of the cells within the battery may be dead.

You can get something like this from Amazon:

I have not used it for a long time. Now it will not switch on

HI, have you tried charging it for at least 2 hours if the battery has gone totally flat then it wont switch on until has been charged for at least a couple of hours.

if it is charged and you have charged it up and its shows you its charging then try removing the battery for few minutes then put it back in and give it a try, if after doing this it still dont work then the problem could be the on/off button or it could have got damp or knocked about.

let me know what you have done so far and let me know if it shows you it is charging, if it dont then the chances are the battery has got bad cells and this is causing it not to hold a charge and if this is the case then your going to need to get a new battery.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

Kodak Easy Share Printer dock plus. Original

Hi,

you're not completely right. Kodak printer docks normally only charge the Kodak KAA2HR battery pack. It not charges normal Ni-MH rechargeable batteries of any brands.

Lights left on, battery totally flat, will not

You've probably flooded it then - TOO much gas in the engine.
Try this charge the battery or use a GOOD one, and beofre yout turn the key push the gas pedal all the way to the floor and hold it there. Then try and start without lifting your foot. Crank for 20-30 seconds at most.
Do that about 2-3 times, then try to start normally.
Holding your foot stops more gas from entering the engine and allows the gas in there to be cleared out.
Flooding is way easy and then can make starting very hard. You have to be aware of this when trying to jump start a dead battery.

Wont turn on

Well to be3 a 100% about the battery I would replace it with one that you know or is guaranteed to work. Camera batteries can look OK from outside and be completely collapsed inside.

No Charge lights can indicate NO battery and if there is one inside then it is dead and registers as a no battery ( no charge light)

The red light blinks in very low state, but totally discharged it will not blink and wont blink again until loeft on chareger for about 3-4 hrs to overcome the low state.

Kodak C763 - fully charged battery - blue lights go and blink for a few seconds - camera will not turn on, lens does not open.

Hi-
When you say 'fully charged', is it the original battery from the camera, or another type of battery?
The description you give indicates one of three possible issues:
1. Your old battery can no longer hold a sufficient charge and though it can give enough to show activity (blue light), it may not hold enough to run the device. You may need to replace it > should be available at most retailers that sell Kodak cameras.
2. Wrong type of battery used. Check to see what type of battery the camera requires: NiCad, Lithium, etc. are all different, and not all can be used in these cameras. It's not just about the battery size.
3. Did you drop it? If so, the threads for the lense may have been damaged, not allwing it to eject from the body.
Since you bought a Kodak, you are lucky. If options 1 or 2 do not fix the problem, contact Kodak and they will usually take care of you.
Good luck!

Lens won't come out?

unless you are very good in micro repairs you will have a pile of junk in short time.
the camera has to be totally dissembled to get to the lens tracks and the 3 pins that hold the lens in place, the track may be damaged also.
as your camera sits its worth around 40 , even if you take it apart the lcd is worth 40 if you don't damage it.
the repair will likely be around 90+ from kodak,
if you take the iris apart you may never get it back together.
if you try to force the lens back in place you will damage the tracks and likely leave plastic bits in lens.
