If you read the other post I sent earlier, sorry about the stupid comment, I was a bit irritated with the inappropriate rating. I pride myself on my high rating here, and try to be as professional as possible, so, again, I apologize.
To get to the screen connection you simply need to remove the screen bezel around the screen and you will see the four screws holding the screen to the hinge assembly. The screws for the bezel are hidden under the small black rubber bumpers, and sticky tabs at the bottom, then it simply snaps off. The bezel is the plastic piece around the viewing side of the screen. Be careful not to break the bezel at the corners when it snaps loose. Check all the connections while you're there, and you may need to replace the clear tape holding the connection in place.

White screen from initial start up. When connected a remote screen (TV) the display on that screen is correct. Graphics card/processor maybe?

If this is a HP laptop then it is probably the cable from the screen to the motherboard that has either come loose or gone bad.

Flickering screen

Try an external monitor to the laptop and see if it flickers. If it does, more than likely your video card is going bad. If it does not flicker on the external monitor you probably have a loose video cable or lcd inverter cable. Go back inside and remove the 2 cables that go into the LCD Inverter that sits at the bottom of the LCD Screen, then plug them back in. Then unplug the video cable at the top behind the lcd screen, plug it back in and secure it with a piece of tape right where the two connections meet.

When I turn on my laptop, the screen will turn black then I had to move the screen back and forth to get the screen working

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :-

My friends laptop fell off of his back seat in his truck, hitting the floorboards. The screen now displays the internet on only a small portion of the screen. More than half is white with pink and blue...

If the screen is not damaged it will be probably, cable between motherboard. You need to open the laptop and check if there is no loose in connection between motherboard and LCD

When I turn on my laptop I am getting some horizontal lines on my display screen but when I hook it up on a stand alone monitor it don't give me no lines.

There is probably a loose connection between the laptop screen and the laptop's graphics card. If all connections are good than the screen display is going bad on the laptop

My screen keeps going dark . I have to move the lid back and forth until it lights up again.

That sounds like a short in the screen you can try removing the outer housing around the screen and check the cable that runs from the screen itself into the main body of the laptop all in all your probably going to need a screen

My screen is green or red when i start up i have to push the screen right back and forward a few times than every naw and agane to get it normal.

There are a number of problems that may cause the screen to have intermitent problems like this.

1) There could be a faulty/loose connection between the screen and the laptops motherboard. The laptop would need to be taken apart and the connectors reset/replaced to see if that remedies the problem.

I suspect this is probably the problem as when you are moving the screen backwards and forwards you are probably remaking the connection

2) There could be a problem with the screen itself and may need replacing.

If you are confident you could repair this yourself, alternatively take it to a local computer repair shop. Shop around a few and get quotes off them before going with the first one you find.

My Averatec 2500 screen blanks if I open computer past 45 degrees, if I start closing it again it comes back on.

The "data" cable between the motherboard and the LCD screen is probably loose, and "flexing" it connects/disconnects it.
Take the computer to a qualified technician, since opening-up your laptop is not something for a novice to try.

Dell Vostro 1500 - just replaced a broken LCD screen. New screen is dim. I already checked color connections and screen brightness (FN up and down). How do I brighten my screen?

You are probably not going to like my answer but your new screen may have a bad Backlight or connection, that is what lights up the lcd panel. Check your connection at the inverter just to make sure, sometimes these connection can get reversed or get loose during the reinstall. I would take it back apart and check it from the main cable on the back all the way to the motherboard.

Screen flickers

If light is good and picture flickers, then it is either a bad LCD ribbon cable, or cable not well placed into connector, or a bad LCD display, usually it is the cable.
If picture flickers like light is dimming out and coming back, then it is the LCD lamp, probably in need of replacement.
In some rare case a faulty Video card is causing the problem.
Usually to fix this you need to take apart LCD display and upper laptop plate, to reveal the display cable.
