Yellow light / No green

My Vizio is two years old and I've never had a problem. I'm now unable to turn on the TV with or without the remote. I have a yellow stand-by light so it's receiving the power source. Since my extended warranty expired 4 months ago it looks like I'm on my own. Is there anyone els having this problem and how much did it cost you to repair it?

You can try a hard reset: Unplug TV from AC mains and remove all cables from TV. Wait about 30 minutes and replug to AC power and redo the cabling. Switch on the TV and see if it works try another ac main point.IF this did then you need get your tv repair by service person OrIf you would like to attempt a DIY, you will need a service manual to guide you. You can find one here:http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

It maybe receiving power how ever the power supply module on your main board is most likely the problem. first try and unplug the unit. then plug back in there should be a master reset switch. iif this doesn't work. it's the module and has to be replaced by a tech. this is a common problem because the units receive a great amount of heat and over time the fail.

The power supply failed on your LCD. The yellow standby light indicates that there is a problem with the voltages being low due to defective capacitors.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

I've seen that problem before and for this person it turned out to be a bad ground on the outlet they were using. I've also seen waiting for it to turn it self on after its on off fit sometimes works.

Trying to program a direct tv remote to work with my 46" lcd, Vizio tv. Have tried the codes provided, but they don't show when I type them...not sure if actually being entered. Or, maybe have...

1 Vizio tv.code 0864 OR 10885 OR 11756OR 10178

Unable to Find Correct Code
If you were unable to find the code for your brand of TV or component, you can try a code search. This process may take up to 30 minutes.
1. Turn on the TV or component. Insert a tape or disk if applicable.
2. Slide the MODE switch to the TV, AV1 or AV2 position, as desired.
3. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys at the same time until the green light under the selected switch position flashes twice, then release both keys.
4. Enter 9-9-1 followed by one of the following four digits:
Satellite - 0
TV - 1
VCR/DVD - 2
Stereo Receiver/Stereo Amplifier - 3
5. Press PWR, or other functions (e.g. PLAY for VCR) you want to use.
6. Point the remote at the TV or component and press CHAN+. Repeatedly press CHAN+ until the TV or component turns off.
NOTE: Every time CHAN+ is pressed the remote advances to the next code and power is transmitted to the component.
7. Use the CHAN- key to step back a code.
8. When the TV or component turns off, stop pressing the CHAN+ key. Then, press and release the SELECT key.
NOTE: If the light flashes 3 times before the TV or component responds, you've cycled through all codes and the code you need is not available. You must use the remote that came with your TV or component.

Verifying the Codes
Once you have set up the DIRECTV Universal Remote Control using the above steps, use the following instructions to find out the 5-digit code to which your component responded:
1. Slide the MODE switch to the appropriate position.
2. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys at the same time until the green light under the selected switch position flashes twice, then release both keys.
3. Enter 9-9-0. (The green light under the selected switch position flashes twice.)
4. To view the first digit in the code, Press and release then number 1 key. Wait three seconds, and count the number of times the green light flashes. Write this number down.
5. Repeat step 4 four more times for the remaining digits; i.e., press number 2 for the second digit, 3 for the third digit, 4 for the fourth digit and 5 for the final digit.\

Depending on how you set up your remote, the VOL and MUTE may control the volume only on your TV, regardless of the position of the MODE switch. This remote can be set up so that the VOL and MUTE keys work only with the component selected by the MODE switch. To enable this feature, perform the following steps:
1. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys until the green light under the DIRECTV position flashes twice, then release both keys.
2. Using the number keys, enter 9-9-3. (The green light will flash twice after the 3.)
3. Press and release the VOL+ key. (The green light flashes 4 times.)
Now the VOL and MUTE keys will work only for the component selected by the MODE switch position.

To Lock Volume to AV1, AV2 or TV
1. Slide the MODE switch to the AV1, AV2 or TV position to lock the volume.
2. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys until the green light under the selected switch flashes twice and release both keys.
3. Using the number keys, enter 9-9-3. (The green light flashes twice.)
4. Press and release the SELECT key. (The green light flashes twice.)

Vizio L32 stopped working.

I have seen this many times. The tv most likely has run its course. It could be the power supply or a lamp. Sounds more like a lamp, as you still have lights on your set. check around and get some prices on a lamp. you can have a local shop install it for you. or just replace the set.

Yellow light is so I have power but remote or

Its a vizio l37. I bought it in 2004 from Sams and haven't had any problems until now. We took it to a repair shop and they charged me $55 to tell me it was dead. They said they could fix it by replacing the main board which costs $250 with an additional $250 in labor. We said no thanks to the $500 repair and bought a new tv for $600. Now its in the garage and I'm wondering if there is something I can do to fix it for less. Seems like a waste.

Vizio L32 TV won't turn on. yellow power light lit, should turn to green when button or remote is pressed, and set should come on. No response to either remote or manual buttons. No change after unplugging...

Had same prob;em. Replace main board and now works just fine. You need to take the back off and under the metal cover is the main board. The part number should start with 3320-xxxx-xxxx. You can purchase the board from Vance Baldwin. vancebaldwin.com sign in as a guest. I will warn you the cost of the board is high.
