Thank you, but your answer didn't solve my problem. I deleted I-tunes, redownloaded and installed it and changed my speed to 24, as you suggested.
    The error 2131 still occured.
    Please help!!

I do feel the help I received from your staff solved my problem! I was also having problems with my windows media player burning cds, but after I redownloaded I-tunes and the firmware (thank you for that . . can't find where I would like to rate that help), both modalities worked just fine. However . . I also used some older cd's! So, not sure which helped the most, but I am very happy and very thankful!

May I call on you again??

If you just purchase the device, I suggest you to replace it since that error is a firmware bug. New unit should work fine.

This is caused because you need a firmware update on the drive.

Use this link to get the updated firmware and user manual:

http://www.samsung.com/us/function/search/resultList.do?searchWord=sh-s202n

Please rate this is it helps.

Did you do the firmware update? I believe this will solve your problem.

Delete itunes and re-installed it. This re-established the upper limit.
Changed the itunes burn speed to 24x , I did go back and set it back to maximum speed and it continued to work at the same speed.
Hope that helps..........

If that's the case this can be a prblem already with your media drive , because as I check this problem alot of users are having the same prblem and it only cause by a bad media player/burner... I suggest you to have it replace...

I think 2131 is a logical error, it occurrs on Dell and Samsung DVDs, I see if there is a firmware update to fix this.

Do a firmware update, I searched on forums and apparently this is the only way to fix 2131, as the error is an internal bug on samsung and dell devices.
Many new Samsung can do firmware live update automatically, if not download firmware here (select mirror 1).

CD player doesn't play

It's possible the laser lens has been knocked out of alignment. If there's a code after the ERROR message, you may be able to find a solution by reading the manual for the unit - they can often be found online if you don't have one. Good luck!

You need to try cleaning the lens of the player. If that doesn't correct it you might have lens damage.

Have you changed programs that you use to burn VCDs?
(Perhaps the program was updated?)

Perhaps trying a different program to make the VCD will work for you.

Also; when is the last time you cleaned the DVD player lens?

Every time i ty to burn a cd i get an error message saying slow down recording speed or try another brand of disc i have done this but i still get the same message

Get a CD laser cleaning kit and clean the laser. If this does not work I strongly suspect the laser is going weak and can no longer properly burn in to the disks. I doubt it is a software fault. The fix is to change the drive to prove that the drive's laser is actualy going bad.

Pioneer MT2000 Stereo M-error message for CD

it might be new cd's they have come long ways older players are not excepting newer cd's for some odd reason maken you go out and up grade your players
(thats just wrong)
but try this put in one of your older cd's if it plays that then its the new format cd's that just came out
i havent heard of conversioned cd's dvd's yet but everything bought in 2007 new or older than 2007 is being outsourced to new source cd's dvd's
my opinion if old cd's work then your going to have to upgrade to better system
