A/C thermostat working, squirrel cage fan assembly working but circuit breaker in R/V interrupts when compressor starts refrigeration. Can I get a diagram showing how to remove the unit from the roof of the R/V and parts needed to repair the compressor motor if that is the problem.

It may just be your compressor start capacitor that needs replacing. If not experienced working with capacitors, I must warn you to handle with insulated pliers at the very least as they can give a ZAP of 300 + volts even when disconnected from power. Give me your model number but don't take unit off the roof yet, it may be fixable right where it is. Be sure to shut breaker etc off before removing cover on roof.

Be sure you have good voltage to unit as well.

Check the blower motor capicator. It should be mounted close to the motor with 2 wires to it (brown,brown/white).
Turn the blower on the thermostat and spin the squirrel cage by hand and see if it runs after by itself. If it does then definitely the capicator is bad .If it still doesn't run then check to see if there is voltage going to motor.
If thermostat is calling for fan and there is voltage present at the motor terminal then the motor is bad

Problem with Air Conditioner

there will be an access panel where the motor is located. 1st thing to check is fuse or circuit breaker feeding the air handler. this is on seperate power from compressor unit outside and usually has a fused or breakered disconnect on the side of the unit. if fuses are good or breaker is not tripped then switch fan mode to on. if blower runs in on but not in auto then it is a thermostat problem. if still no go then turn off power, remove access panel and find the squirrel cage fan blade. make sure it turns freely. it is very common for these motors to go bad. it can usually be removed easily and taken to a motor shop. I use Roy's Electric in Richmond, Va. They can test the motor on the bench and replace it if it is faulty.

Why does my ac freeze up

Hello, air conditioners will freeze either due to low airflow.....such as dirty filter, dirty evaporator coil, weak or not running blower motor. Also, a low refrigerant charge can cause the unit to freeze up.

Changing squirrel cage GE window a/c

yes, most smaller window units have both outdoor and indoor cages connected to a single motor in the middle of the 2 blower wheels and are completely seperate from the compressor and it associated parts

Outside runs fine but inside squirrel cage motor fails

Go to the thermostat and place the fan switch in "on" and see if the fan runs. If it doesn't then check the circuit breakers. If the circuit breakers are on turn off the power and spin the fan by hand to see if it turns freely. If it does then check the fan capacitor. Let me know what you find.

AC Breaker trips and AC Fan turns slow.

Sounds like you have a bad capacitor for your squirrel cage fan , now as for the a/c unit sounds like you have a direct short in compressor to ground or leg to leg , check all wiring to make sure that it is not grounding out or melted together.

Penguin model 610012-001a/c compressor won't start

I would check to make sure that the control is sending the "cool" signal to the control unit. LO on the room temp display usually means that the fan speed is set to low. Is LO and Auto showing on the display at the same time. Try resetting the thermostat first. Hold down the Mode and Zone buttons with the tstat off. While holding them down, turn the tstat back on and hold the buttons down until FF appears on the screen. Release the buttons and try the AC.
If this does not work, on the control board is a freeze control switch plug (blue usually). Try unplugging this unit and insert a small jumper wire. If the Compressor comes on and runs then you have a bad freeze control switch. If not, then you should replace the control board.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

After cleaning blower on the furance outside unit will not start.

If you took the door off of the squirrel cage fan for a while the freon gets so cold the compressor cannot pump it. I will trip the outside breaker. Just let me know if during the process did wiring get moved around. Let me know, Sea Breeze
