Won't power up, like the power button never lights up? Or no power like you get a green or orange light on the power button, but no picture?

Toshiba 42hl800a won't power on

Hi, first plug in another appliance, hoover etc to check if power is available at the socket, then, check / change fuse in the plug / try a suitable other lead with similar end socket, most are standard fitting, only then if you are confident/competent, remove back of TV where you will find another quick blow fuse

Hi, I have a Princeton LCD17D flat screen monitor and the screen keeps going black after 20 seconds or so. I power up my PC and it turns on then black. If I turn it off and on again the same thing occurs....

It's getting power, it's just not getting signal from the data cable. The cord that connects to the monitor, (not the power) is typically the reason it is going into standby mode. This can also happen if your graphics card driver is missing on your operating system, but you said you tried the monitor on another machine, so I narrowing it down to most likely be the data cable. Try another cable.

Monitor won't turn on. Checked all connections. What's the problem?

Try another plug socket, may be a issue with the wall socketitself.
If not, try changing the fuse in the plug, may not beapplicable if you live in the USA.
If not try another power cable.
If the problem continues, contact manufacture

The power cable on my montor no longer works but the plug looks like a shaver plug is this right and can you recommend somewhere to get a new cable changed the fuse and everything

It may be power supply problem, most monitors the same power cable as the PC (three prongs USA plug on one end and IEC C13 on the other end).

The monitor will not come on when i turn it on

1. - Check for power at the socket. (plug in something else)

2. - Check for power at the power cable. (plug the cable into something else you know works)

3. - Plug into monitor, and see if ANYTHING lights up when the power switch is turned ON.

4. - If you get some indication of power, try a new cable to the PC, or plug into different PC. That will localize if it's the monitor, the cable, or the PC.

Good luck!

Have you tried the monitor just by itself powered on and try to get to the menu on it to change settings you should though at least get some sort of dialog screen on it saying that its not getting a signal or something. If not its likely the monitor is bad

AL178 17in. Flat Panel Problem: Screen goes black after about a second

I had the same problem before. I open my set to find out the faulty component are at power supply main board.
I change the electrlytic capacitor 680microfarad and a resistor burnt near the FET.
You can visual check first.Color changes and bulky form on cap and burnt resistor easily.
Have a try.
