Well if you have installed any new hardware please try to remove it and see if that works.

However this usually happens when there is some new hardware added or it could also be because of incompatibe software installed.

There are many reasons for blue screen if you are able to boot with safe mode then try restoring your computer to earlier time.

If the above steps wont work I regret to inform you that you might need to reinstall the operating system and you might loose your data however you can take a back up by going to a technician.

Let me know if you need any further assistance and if you have a moment to accept and rate the solution I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,

Mohammed.

Dell wont open windows in start safe mode

You need to run the check disk utility. You have corrupt or missing boot or system files.

To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc or a operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot from it. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with white letters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice the percentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run to completion. Then reboot machine.

If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows. Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.

In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair when the options appear.

In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recovery console and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.

This looks like the codes from a Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD). If so you will need a system disk to boot from and get to a dos command prompt (black screen with white writing) and type the following command:
chkdsk /r
Check Disk Repair will run for well over an hour and you will see the percentage of completion going from high to low but that is normal. Let it run to completion and then reboot.

In Windows XP to get to the dos command prompt boot from the system disk and when the options come up select Repair. Select 1 for the Windows Operating System and when it asks for the Administrator Password just press enter.

In Windows Vista to get to the dos command prompt boot from the system disk and when the options screen open you could try a startup repair. If it fails look the dos command at the bottom of the Recovery Console.

You plug in the drives, you don't have to repair windows just because you added drives.

You can't repair xp it does not have a repair, it only has recovery, and unless you made a recovery disk or have one you can't.

Windows xp is up to SP3.

Did it boot from the disk ? you need to force boot to cd, But try this.

When your BIOS post, first screen, hit the F8 key, and see if you can boot into safe mode.

Then go to start, accessories, system tools, system restore, and restore it.

Any other questions of you have have more details after you try this post back.

Try Safe Mode. Press F8 key during bootup and you will be presented with a black screen with multiple choices. Select "Safe Mode". This will load Windows with minimal drivers and with admin login option. If you can log in as administrator then create a new account in the Control Panel. Restart the computer and shut down. If it shuts down correctly then you are half way there, windows OS is not to badly corrupted. Boot up and if it comes up normally select the new profile you created.

If this does not work, then you will have to repair the system files, for which you will need a OS CD or restore disk.

XP wont boot not recognising Sata hard disks

if you want to try and get to those files you have best buy another drive and load windows on it . then connect this drive using an external usb adapter/enclosure, not before , not during , only after windows is installed and then you may get to this drives data .if you have luck.
or purchase an enclosure and connect to another computer.
at most you should attempt on this drive is to boot windows and run a repair on the drive. even that can be risky without backed up data.
