Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

3 Answers

Won't drain I unplugged the machine for 30 minutes, and then plugged it back in. I set it to spin and drain, and it just makes a low humming noise, but does not spin or drain. I think the drain may be clogged - perhaps by baby clothes. How do I check the drain? PS Eventually, if left on for a while, the error code will come up as "SUDS", but will not clear. There are no suds in the machine and we use the HD detergent.

I had the same problem. Wouldn't drain, wouldn't spin. Took the three screws out on the bottom panel, unscrewed the port on the pump, cleaned it out...just a nail and some change...cleaned it up, put it back together and it works great! Easy enough even for a novice.
Thanks a bunch.

Whirlpool washer WTW5700X. When attempting to do a load washer will start to spin then stops and makes loud hum noise and the only way to stop it is to unplug washer.

Does it run after plugging back in? Does it drain properly? It may be a bad or clogged pump.sometimes stuff like baby socks can jam it up.

Kenmore 110.42822 won't spin

This should take 30 minutes: Remove the panel that is located below the front door, there are 3 small screws located at the bottom that hold this... you will see the water pump, which has a access screw plug. Unscrew this, its like a filter, you may see stuff, like coins, socks, etc, remove and clean out, then put everything back... this should fix the issue.

Samsung SW60ASP washing machine won't spin or drain

5E is a Drain Error Code.

This can be caused by a clogged filter in the washing machine or a blocked drain line in your house. There can be a few other reasons, but these are the most likely.

If you would like to try to repair it yourself, then follow these instructions:

UNPLUG the washing machine. Repeat, UNPLUG the washing machine!!!

Check the filter in the back of the washing machine on the bottom right-hand corner. Place a shallow dish under the filter. Loosen the filter to drain out the water. Remove the filter and clean it out. Look at where you removed the filter and you will see the water pump impeller. Make sure it can move and isn't locked up. Remove any debris from the impeller.

Replace the filter, and plug in the machine. Try a short wash cycle.
Check for leaks around the filter.

Crosley 5000 front load washer won't spin

Hello - Does the drain pump make a humming noise? If so, you possibly have a restriction in the drain line or siphoning. Try setting the cycle to spin only and verify if water pumps out. If it does not, the unit could possibly be experiencing an issue with either the pump, door lock assembly or timer. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.

Frigidaire washer won't drain or spin

Hello - Does the drain pump make a humming noise? If so, you possibly have a restriction in the drain line or siphoning. Try setting the cycle to spin only and verify if water pumps out. Supposing that it does not, I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately. The unit could possibly have a faulty pump, timer, or door lid (if it is a laundry center).

Frigidaire affinity front load washer

If the unit will not spin at all and makes a humming noise, sounds like something has seized up in the back of the unit. This could be a belt broken, motor seized up, or the transmission, if your unit has one, is gone.

Machine had been giving E20 error code - filter cleared and it re-started ok. When wash was in progress - jammed at rinse stage and all lights came on (except spin speeds) and humming noise and nothing...

E20 is an error code for drainage failure.

Check where the appliance drain hose connects to the house drains for a blockage.

If it's onto a spigot under the sink, take them off and check both for a blockage.

If these are ok then it's likely to be a blockage in the pump.

You'll need to drain the water out manually.

Put a shallow dish below the filter and slacken the filter.

Tighten it to stop the flow of water while you empty the dish.

Once empty, take the filter out, clean out the debris and ensure nothing is left jamming the pump.

Before refitting the filter, put the machine on drain or spin and listen at the filter housing to see if you can hear the pump running.

If you do, fit the filter and try the machine again.

Flashing F2

“F02” (Drain Problem)
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug
washer or disconnect power.
Check the following:
Is the drain hose kinked?
Is the drain hose frozen?
Is the drain hose clogged?
Is the drain hose more than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor?

After running this check list, plug back up and try a complete cycle using cold water and no detergent. Sudding can mimic a drainage issue as well. make sure you are using the correct HE detergent to prevent over sudding.
