I know three people including me who have had the same problem. Mine is currently in pieces. My girlfriend replaced her belts and hers works now. I replaced my belts to no avail. Hand tool works, so it;s not the pump. Have to get it back together as before I noticed the back end of the hood was not down tight. That could be the problem, if I can get it back on there. Will write again if that is it.

Don't know how to use with shampoo

Best to not put shampoo in machine. Put traffic lane cleaner in sprayer with hot water, spray onto carpet after thorough vacuuming, allow cleaner to dwell 5 to 10 minutes and clean and rinse with fresh clean water in machine. For best results do NOT put shampoo in he machine even though it was designed for it. Most of the machines brought in for repairs are clogged with soap gunk. Carpets will be cleaner and stay clean longer because the soap has been rinsed out of carpet

F7210-900 Steam Vac. will not put out water when switch is in wash position but it will put out water when the rinse position

There are two electrical solenoids inside the hood assembly. One opens to dispense rinse water, and the other dispenses the soap and water solution. It is likely that the soap and water solenoid has failed and will require replacement. A "work around" fix for this is to mix the soap solution in the clear water tank ( 5 oz. of shampoo per gallon of water ), and shampoo that way until the solenoid can be replaced.

Bissel Quicksteamer leaking

Hi there SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here. I do a lot of work on the Vax range of machines (very similar) and 90% of the time it is the filters and/or the seals once they get a build up of shampoo on them they no longer seal properly but once removed and rinsed thoroughly they work again. Rinsing the machine through with clean water after a shampoo job will help this not happen again.
Hope this helps

Constsntly applys water even when shut off/ not running took apart handle I believe trigger is broken

Hi there SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here. The trigger definately could be broken but before you take it to a repairer i would really thouroughly clean any little foam filters and rubber seals you can find. I do a lot of work on the Vax range of machines (very similar) and 90% of the time it is the filters and/or the seals once they get a build up of shampoo on them they no longer seal properly but once removed and rinsed thoroughly they work again. Does it matter what kind of cleaner I use on the Deep Cleaner Model F5821

Yes it does matter which cleaning solution that you use in your steam cleaner. If you use the wrong cleaning solution it may cause problems with the cleaning solution dispensary system. Different steam cleaners use different cleaning solutions. You should always use the steam cleaner solution for your specific cleaner. I have learned this the hard (and expensive) way.

Hard to recommend this but it will work in a pinch. You can use a small amount of liquid laundry detergent diluted with hot water (about 2 table spoons to a gallon) as a stand in for the real deal. DO NOT put the laundry soap solution into the cleaning solution reservoir (the wax content will clog the soap dispensary system). Lightly apply to the area to be shampooed (do not soak). I have used a plastic coffee can with holes poked in the lid like a watering can to apply the soap solution. Use the shampooer to do the scrubbing and remove soapy water from the shampooed area. Fill your soap reservoir with clean hot water. The laundry soap does most of its job during the rinse. Go over the shampooed area with the shampooer moderately soaking the shampooed area to with the hot rinse water. Remove as much of the rinse water as possible. Liquid laundry soap has a high wax content (makes your cloths soft) and if it is not rinsed thoroughly after it is dry the remaining wax will attract dirt faster than the surrounding areas. Other than that it works for a good stand in for the proper detergent in a pinch. As a bonus it smells great.

From what I understand as unorthodox as it is, it works well in small doses, and I don't believe that it causes any damage to the other parts of the steam cleaner as steam cleaners survive drawing up worse things into them than laundry soap.

I hope that you find this helpful

Good Luck!

Bissell will not heat up

There is a heating element which is prone to fail. I don't know if I would bother to have this repaired if the Bissell is out of warranty because I don't think it adds a lot to the performance. I think it's most important for good cleaning to put very hot water into the machine, and then work slowly with lots of water and rinsing and vacuuming. Remember that carpet shampoo never makes dirt vanish-- it only loosens it so you can rinse and **** it up. If you don't **** it up, the floor stays dirty. So you have to go slowly and rinse a lot until the water is beige instead of black!.

The heater may help heat the water a little more, but it's no biggie IMO.

Kirby Vacuum Shampoo Attachment

If your trying to shampoo your carpets but the water flow is to weak and it trickles through the spout to the carpet leaving small puddles

This problem often occurs when the foam filter is not replaced after rinsing or ends up in the shampoo hose at an angle preventing foaming. If you take the small shampoo hose of the shampoo tank the filter should be on the tank, if not, it may have come off and be in the hose. If it’s not there locate it, likely in the area where you last cleaned the shampooer or in the box, and put it back on the tank. While this should be cleaned after each use, care should be taken to replace it and not lose it.

The problem may also occur if you don’t actually add the Kirby Dry Foam Shampoo to the water or if you use some thin else.

Take care to also clean and replace the air filter after rinsing. It is located under the shampoo tank where the tank fits onto the vacuum.
