Try using the character map in Windows XP.
You can find it by selecting Programs » Accessories » System Tools » Character Map.

The euro symbol is under the 5, how do i type this?

Hello,

The keyboard shortcut for the € symbol is Alt Gr + 5. However if this does not work, you may also enter the following key combination : Alt+0128.

You have to maintain the Alt key pressed while entering the 0128 code.

Hope this helps you.

Hold down the "ALT" key while typing 0153 and it will enter this: ™ when you release the ALT key

Does your keyboard have an 'ALT(ernate) GRA(phic)' key to the right of the SPACE-BAR key?

If so, hold that key down, press one of those multi-labelled keys, and release the key, and then release that ALT GRA key. Does the correct "alternate" key display?

How to use Alt Car key?

I am guessing the Vaio you have is a Canadian model, which has alternate keyboard drivers for English and French. On these models, it seems the alt car key only works with the French keyboard (durr). To switch, press the LEFT control key and RIGHT shift key at the same time, then release. Now if you use the alt car key like the shift key, i.e. hold it down then press another key, you should be able to access the pink characters. To return to English keyboard, press left-ctrl and right-shift together again.

ON OUR ACER ONE KEYBOARD WE CAN`T FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET ALL

The keys to modify other keys are 'shift', 'alt gr', and in some laptops 'fn', 'ctrl' and 'alt' also affect key, but they are more use for shortcuts and less to alternate key symbols.

Okay, I know this is an old question but when i searched for the same problem recently, it was the nearest I could find. So in case others are having the same problem:

The fn key acts much like the shift key on your keyboard,,it is used to access the extra key functions which will be marked or written in blue on your key's.
They are supposed to be there.
