This is usually a problem that involves a fault in the USB cable. My suggestion would be to try a different USB cable and if that doesn't help try using it on another computer as it may be a fault with your USB port.

You have to configure your USB connection to PC. What shows up as the drive in your PC when you connect your PSP to it is one of the 4 FLASH folders. Do the following;
1. In your PSP main screen, press your "SELECT" button and XMB Menu will show up. 2. Scroll down to the "USB DEVICE" option. 3. Loot at the value in the right, it should either "Flash 0", "Flash 1", "Flash 2", or "Flash 3". 4. Press Arrow Right until the value changes to "Memory Stick Value".
Exit and connect to your PC again and you'll see your 8GB MS this time...

Laptop will not recognize psp

Hi lawolf77,

If your laptop wont recognize your PSP there might be a connection problem between the two. So you need to check what's causing the problem. There are several ways to check if PSP and your computer are properly connected, one good example is by checking the connectors and the device setting.

If you want to check some configuration on how to connect your PSP to your PC please try to follow these steps:

1. First, connect your PSP to your PC using a usb cable.
- please make sure both ends are properly intact.

2. Using the left and right directional button find "Setting", then scroll down or up to find the "USB CONNECTION".

3. USB CONNECTION will display after you pressed the x button.

4. Please wait until computer detects the USB connection. After that it will show the drive for your PSP. usually F: or G:

5. Click on your PSP drive letter.

6. Now you can determine if your PC recognizes the PSP, just access the root folder and try to put some files on it.

Hope it helps.

I cant play my psp games because the hen program gone.. how to make it back so that i can play it again..

Hi divinekiller,

Based on your concern, I suggest trying the following steps:

1. Connect the PSP to your PC with a USB cable.
2. Press the "home" button on the PSP
--> at the lower left of the screen you can see the home button.
3. Use the left-right directional buttons to find "Settings", then the up-down buttons to find "USB Connection" on the PSP.
4. Press the "X" button, your PSP should display "USB Connection".
5. Please wait until your computer tells you that a new USB device has been connected, then show you a new generic hard drive, usually E: or F:
6. Click on the drive letter that corresponds to the PSP unit.
7. place the h.bin file in your MS root and the chickHEN folder with images in PSP/PHOTO on your memory stick pro duo.
-> if you don't have that folder PSP/PHOTO don't worry just create it and place the folder in there.
-> you would put the Slim ChickHEN folder in PSP/PHOTO so it looks like PSP/PHOTO/ChickHEN with the pretty egg gifs inside.
8. Now you need to make sure that you have PSP Firmware 5.03 installed. If you dont have you can download it here:

9. Ok now in the PSP XMB go to Photo's / Memory stick and then the chickHEN folder and wait! If it works you'll see a few colours flash and then your PSP is rebooting itself loading up the chickHEN homebrew environment. Now you can go to Game in the XMB and load some homebrew.

10 . You can download the CHickHEN R2 for Firmware 5.03 here:

Hope it helps,

My PC cant find my PSP even im connecting with a usb device....

Hi,

Sorry about this, your usb port on your psp could be possibly damaged. So you can use a memory stick on your memory card reader to do your data transfer. If you insist on using the usb connection then try seeing a sony repair personnel for this.

Psp problems

Hi Milez,

You probably have a power switch board failure or connection problem. Where the battery connects to the PSP clean that with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. Also see what you can do about cleaning the battery connectors the same way. If that doesnot fix it, you may have a cirucit problem inside. Click on the "Repair Directory" at the bottom of this screen. In the directory click on "Video Game Consoles" check with the repair shops that Fix Playstations to find a good deal on fixing it. Good luck
