If you have the original program, try re-installing it, then uninstall it.

I have windows xp and i am unable to install silverlight. it keeps telling me i need to uninstall the old silverlight but when i try it tells me it cannot find the file to remove it. any suggestions? i...

It sounds like you have deleted the program files instead of uninstalling it. go to and there you may get the same version of silverlight and install it. then uninstall it from the add remove menu.

When trying to turn on my laptop, I get the above status message and it says missing registry files. Why is this. My laptop battery doesnt chartge either.

If you are running either Vista or Win7, when someone tries to open a fresh user name, this will cause registry errors as will deleting programmes without uninstalling or just generaly closing the laptop without shutting it down. Letting it go into hybernation/sleep mode and the battery going totally flat then restarting the laptop without coming first out of hybernation, may cause this sort of problem.
There are a few utilities that will fix this problem available on the net, PC Tools, Norton Utilities to name just two.
Hope you clear your errors.

I cant uninstall programs from the control panel... i keep getting message ghost uninstaller says installation log file can not be found

This means that a program that you may have uninstalled earlier might have removed this needed file. You can reinstall windows..if this is your platform and select the repair instead of full install inorder to place this file back in your system. Please give more information if this does not work for you. Good Luck..

I can,t get delete norton 360 out of my uninstall

Go to reboot, before the Windows XP Screen shows up, continue to press F5 - When a list of options comes up, press - Safe Mode - windows will continue to load. When the initial screen comes up, press No -

Windows is now running in a *Lite* mode - Try uninstalling Norton in this mode, as windows is running in a *Lite* mode, the norton files should not be in use anymore. When the norton files are in use, Windows has trouble uninstalling Norton.

Just to make sure - Are you running Windows XP? If this solution does not work for you, there are a handful of other things to try.

Unable to run one care

Are you sure you have the VISTA Version of these programs..?

Try deleting the folder they are installed to, then uninstalling them form control panel.. add/remove will give you an error, then it will remove them from the list once you have deleted the folder in c:\Program Files\iTunes or whatever...

Maybe try uninstalling them in Safe Mode... enter safe mode by pressing F8 a few times when you turn your PC on.
