U-Line refrigerator We installed 3 under counter refrigerators when we builkt our home 10 years ago. The one in the bar has been used most - but sporadically and although the frig works reasonably well, the icemaker gave up after 18months. The other two do not work at all! The appliance repair company we called in said they were not able to be repaired that the parts were very hard (if not impossible) to get. Has anyone advised the U-Line company of all of these issues?

Hi
The whirlpool icemakers are NOT the same. The motors in them are different rpm and could cause floods. Also it is wired different. Service companies that have problems finding parts usually dont work with U-line. To find parts you can visit their website www.u-line.com and under customer service you will see parts locator. You will find parts distributors that can help you.

My freezer is on the bottom and it keeps building up frost. Any idea why? Just started about 2 weeks ago.

for frost to start appearing in a bottom freezer, indicates that the draw seal is not sealing properly or the draw is not closing fully
after 3 years it may need an adjustment of the rollers and slides to get the draw sealing better again
call in a service technician as it should be still under warranty

No water coming out of the dispenser

Hello there and welcome to fixya
Dispenser Does Not Operate
  • 1 Ensure that the water supply line is installed according to the manufacturer's directions. Turn the water supply shutoff valve counter-clockwise to fully open it.
  • 2 Replace the water filter or remove the filter and install the plug. A clogged filter will prevent the water dispenser from functioning properly.
  • 3 Place a large container under the water dispenser. Press and hold the dispenser lever for at least two minutes to remove air in the water system.
Does Not Dispense Water
  • 1 Inspect the supply line and shutoff valve for clogs. Call a plumber to remove clogs in the line or shutoff valve.
  • 2 Replace the water filter cartridge or remove the filter and install the plug.
  • 3 Ensure that the filter cartridge is installed properly. Remove it and reinstall the filter cartridge. The cartridge will lock into place when installed correctly.

Have an under sink Culligan RO system with 4 potential filters but it only uses 3 (was so installed by Culligan). Filters are labeled - reading left to right Sediment SED10 ...

Pre-filter and carbon block filter are changed annually. The membrane is only changed every 3-7 years depending on water quality coming in, TDS and usage. Fourth filter is an in-line carbon filter that goes on the line up to the RO faucet.

I have had a repairman look at this refrigerator and he claims there is a slow leak. Can't a new freon line be installed?

Usually it takes too much labor to fix that line, Kitchenaid built in refrigerators have capillary tube which licks at the back by suction line tube. Refrigerator will need ti be moved out from cabinet in most cases. Tech would want to give You a warranty, so they usually would replace the whole sealed system for big money, but most likely it last 10-15 years. If They will fix one pipe, next year You might call him back, leak might be in different pipe, but it will be the same expensive (due to labor). Check my video out. A Year ago found leak at evaporator, explained to customer better to do the whole system, but he wanted only evaporator replaced since its so obvious. Now we will replace the whole system, Evap is ok, heater too, but now, capillary tube + suction line + drain pan heater loop(freon pipe). If You watch video thru till the end, you will see where heater on old evaporator touching evaporator coil in multiple bents.

I have a 3 year old U-Line U 2075RB.00, under the counter refrigerator. Apparently the compressor has gond bad. It just stopped working. Do I look for a repairman or just replace it?

Good day,
You should first verify the age. There should be a 5 year warranty on the compressor. In your owners manual it might refer to it as a sealed system component or compressor.
Call your selling dealer and verify that. If it is, then have a service call performed by them, or an authorized repair station they use.

My under counter Uline refrigerator/ice maker suddenly trips GFI

I here this alot. If you have a compressor on a gfi the compressor after awhile would trip it. The compressor start amps is usually higher than the gfi is rated. So you have 2 choices. Replace the GFI and try to find one with higher amp ratings. Or install a normal outlet for your unit. Your code will usually call for a gfi, If it does then replace with a new gfi.
To explain the start amps on a compressor depending on your model could be 10 amps. This is for a split second. However the gfi can become week after time. You can also try to plug the unit into a normal outlet to make sure everything is good on the unit. I believe it is the gfi

Would like to install a water filter

Add a in-line filter to the incoming water line behind the refrigerator.
Most have 1/4 inch compression fittings to adapt.
