I use my etrex legend when I trail ride..the other day I rode with 3 other women, we all had a GPS units..mine was the only one that never rec'd a signal pretty much the whole ride. There were trees but since the others GPS' were working just fine that should not be the problem..Do I need some sort of upgrade or is it time for a new unit? thanks Debbie

Did you all hve the same unit, ie Garmin Legend. the newer units, ie Legend HCX can receive signals in deep canyons and heavily treed forests. Mine can even receive a signal when inside the glovebox of my truck!

It sounds like it's time for an upgraded unit.
