The owners manual does not say much about the infrared, however you cannot use the vehicle sound system and the infrared at the same time. When the player is in use and the raidio is off, you should see red lights (4) in the black plastic above the screen. This indicates the infrared is transmitting. if still no sound thru the phones: R&R the phones. Amazon universal infrareds.

First of all do you have a bluetooth kit for your head unit? if so ensure it is plugged in correctly. if it is, then you need to activate bluetooth on your phone and make it visible to other devices, once this is done search from the phone for the bluetooth on the head unit. It should read BT100 or similar. Once it has found it all you need to do is pair them normally using the code 1234.
If you using external amplifiers for all speakers,I think the problem is that you connected the wrong remote wire to the amplifiers.
Most of the car stereos have two remote wires BLUE(only)is for pwr antenna, when you insert a cd this pwr cut out.
BLUE/WHITE STRIPE turns the amplifies on,this is the remote wire that you need to connect to the amps.
LET ME KNOW HOW IT WORKS thank's
I purchased a 2003 Yukon w/ this identical problem, I found one of the wire harnesses on the back of the main radio head to be loose (back right as you pull the radio unit out. I made sure it was plugged in tight and everything worked.
