Whirlpool Senseon Dryer Model GGW9868KQ1. Receiving error code E1. According to research I have done, I need to replace the Thermistor (Part Number AP3919451). Is it difficult to replace? How many parts have to be removed to get to the part that needs to be replaced? Should I call a repair person?

SOURCE: I have a gas whirpool senseon dryer model number

Hi, If the ignitor glows and then shuts off before you get a flame, then you will need to change the coils on the top of the gas valve. This is the most common problem with the gas dryer not heating consistant. Make sure your venting to the outside is cleaned out. A plugged went causes the coils to go back quicker.
I hope this helps and please let me knw if I can assist you further.

SOURCE: whirlpool duet not heating, replaced thermistor

If it just won't heat, it's a thermostat issue (most likely). You can try a different setting and check if it works. There are different thermostats for different settings. Also there is a contact that is operated by the motor to insure that the drum is turning for heat.

Kenmore dryer error code e1

The E1 code on this dryer indicates that you have an "open" (defective) thermistor (temperature sensor). Replacing this part will likely fix your problem. What is the model number?

The dryer shuts off, keep getting an E1 code, what needs to be done

It sounds like this is a Whirlpool Duet or a Kenmore Elite Dryer due to the error code E1 being available only on this models. The problem here is an open thermistor as what error code E1 means. It's either the thermistor is exhibits an extremely high resistance or the wire harness connecting it to the control board is broken or cut open. Click on the link below for the detailed procedure in accessing the thermistor.

Whirlpool Duet and Kenmore Elite Electric Dryers Not Starting

Measure the resistance of the thermistor and refer the table below. Normal thermistor resistance is around 10000 ohms (10K) at room temperature.

Replace the thermistor if the resistance is significantly higher (or lower) than what it is supposed to be based on the resistance table above. Check the wire harness connecting it to the control board, if the resistance turns out good, and make sure the connectors are good and the wires are intact. Replace the wire harness if necessary. Consider replacing the control board if both the thermistor and the wire harness turn out good. The link below might enlighten you further on the troubleshooting of the thermistor.

What is an E1 problem with the maytag dryer

This must be a Whirlpool-made Maytag dryer and troubleshooting are therefore basically the same. The error code E1 indicates that the thermistor is open or having a very high resistance. Check the wiring connections to the thermistor and make sure it is not shorted or disconnected. You may need to replace the thermistor located on the blower housing behind lower front access panel. Click on the link below for the detailed troubleshooting of the thermistor.

I have a whirlpool gold senseon drying system, it seems to get to hot or something and gives me a code of E1, can you tell me what that means and how to fix it?

Error E1 means thermistor is open. The thermistor is on the top of the blower housing. Remove the bottom panel, locate the thermistor and replace it. It looks like this--

Clothes seem to take longer to dry and I keep getting an E1 error code on my Whirlpool duet dryer. Model #GGW9209LW0. Dryer is about 8 years old. Lint is not an issue.

The error code E1 indicates the control senses an open thermistor either due to a loose connection or a failed thermistor. Check the thermistor connection to the control and replace the thermistor (part number 8577274) if the connections are good and snug fit.

Remove the two screws securing the toe panel to the cabinet then pull the panel down and out. Remove the hex-head screw from the lint duct bracket and remove the bracket. Remove the two hex-head screws from the lint duct and remove the lint duct.

Facing the rear of the dryer, the thermistor, usually black, is located on the blower housing to the right of the thermal fuse. Remove the two screws securing it to the blower housing and secure the new thermistor in place.

Connect the wires then reinstall the lint duct and the lint duct bracket. Slide the toe panel up into position to the cabinet and secure it.

Code E1

E1 or E2 Thermistor Failure

The dryer will not operate if the exhaust temperature drops below 18 degrees F. or exceeds 250 degrees F.

When the thermistor circuit is open (>50K ohms), the error code E1 flashes in the display.

When the thermistor circuit is shorted (<500 ohms), the error code E2 flashes in the display.

Normal thermistor resistance values:
60 degrees F. - 15.3K ohms.
70 degrees F. - 11.9K ohms.
80 degrees F. - 9.2K ohms.

Take the top off the dryer and inside you'll find the "tech sheet." It has instructions for removing the front panel and locating the thermistor.

My whirlpool gas dryer keeps coming up with E1 error code after drying for about 50 min, model ggw9200lwo. Any solutions to what the probelm might be?

The E1 code means there is an open thermistor. This thermistor is located on top of the blower housing. Access it by removing the bottom panel on the front of the dryer. This device is not repairable, so unless it's just a loose connection or the device is not firmly mounted, it will need to be replaced.

Unplug the dryer before you work on it!

E1 error code is for the thermistor, try cleaning off the bottom of the thermistor, (sometimes tacky lint will coat them), if that doesn't help, just replace the thermistor.
