Press the "MENU" button and navigate to the reset command and reset the camera. That may get the camera to function properly.

SOURCE: lens error restart camera

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Here are some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for about 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

SOURCE: i am getting lines on photos when i click a photo

The shutter flex cable inside the lens is broken, so the shutter doesn't work. It's a well know problem with the Canon PowerShot A4xx series cameras. There are some flex copies (made in China) being sold on ebay, but they are not that qualitative. Canon doesn't supply these cables separately, they supply the whole lens unit which is quite expensive. I usually suggest not to invest any money in these cameras, because the cable will brake again, sooner or later.

SOURCE: I accidently click thr format

No, you have great chance, no matter you photos in Canon camera got deleted, formatted by accident or became inaccessible due to camera memory card errors. Chances of recovery is possible as long as you take the right action.

Take a try of this Canon Undelete Software, Not only general photo formats, but Canon RAW photo formats (.cr2 or .crw) can be retrieved easily.

Note: before the photos are recovered, Never should you attempt to take more photos or save more data to the memory card in case chances of photo recovery might be reduced. Hope it helps. Regards.

How to fix Powershot Elph 530S so that the lens retract all the way when powering off

From the way you describe the problem it appears that the retraction mechanism has become out of line. I think that as you can hear a clicking sound the mechanism is working but not engaging with the lens. Try gently applying slight pressure on the front of the lens this may help to re-engage. You may need to consider a trip to the repair shop.

Lens error; restart camera

Try one of these two fixes, if they dont work for you follow the link below for further troubleshooting.

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Fix #1: Remove the batteries from the camera, wait a few minutes. Put a fresh set of batteries back in (preferably rechargeable NiMH 2500mah or better) and turn the camera on. If that didn't work, try pressing and holding the Function or OK button while turning the camera on.
Fix #2: If the camera's batteries ran down completely while the its lens was still open, the camera may show a lens error or not start properly when new batteries are installed. Remove the memory card and keep it removed, then install the new batteries. When you turn the camera on with the card removed it may come back to life, as this triggers a reset in some cameras. Error E30 (for older Canon's) means that you don't have a memory card installed, so turn it off, slip in the SD card and turn it on one last time

Restart means turn it off and on. But I believe that you failed to mention the other words that go with this error, namely "Lens Error, Restart Camera". Sadly, restarting the camera usually does not work to correct the lens error.
