Two-sided orientation of text

I can print on both sides of my paper, as always. But I am now getting the second page upside down so that I must turn the paper UP rather than to the left. How do I correct?

Same problem here. Is this a Vista issue?

  • Anonymous Sep 29, 2008

I have reinstalled software, and cannot resolve the problem. I just use the manually print on both sides. I have had many problems since I installed this printer on my new computer with Vista. :(

i have the same problem, but i have XP....i uninstalled the printer and drivers as per HPs suggestion...but still the same problem...then they suggest that i reinstall drivers for a HP 990c printer...and that seemed to work...
this happened suddenly after having the printer for more than a year...but HP does not have any idea why this would happen on its own...
check on HPs technical support for help with that...they have step-by-step instructions on how to install the other drivers...
    good luck.

There is a setting in Printer Preferences that will flip the 2nd page of a double sided printed page 180 degrees. That is probably the first thing you checked but just in case...

This sounds like a software setting. I would reinstall the drivers fro HP's website.

Hi how do you print double sided please

This printer does not have a duplex unit and cannot print double sided prints automatically.
The only way to print double sided is to print page 1 and the insert the page back into the printer tray with the page upside down and then print page 2. Repeat this for the other pages.
You need to do a test print first to work out which way to insert the page upside down in the printer paper tray so the printed text is aligned correctly on both sides of the page.

My duplex printer prints the second page(inside) of a half- fold card upside down. The printer wizard from orintmaster and printshop is designed for single- pass printers si that doesn't work... In fact,...

actually the gears in the printer are got worn out or some thing is blocking the gears so its not able to turn the paper internally to print on the right part of paper.and its printing upside down.remove the cartridge from the printer.and apply air blower in the inner area of printer.remove all the dust collected in the printer by blowing air everywhere in the printer.then check out if still the same problem the paper sliding gears needs to be replaced.you can get the gear assembly for local printer repair shop.they also help if replacing the gear assembly.

This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution if helped.thank you for using fixya

Double sided printing

There should be a setting in the 2-sided properties for binding orientation.

For a MAC, do this:

On the File menu, click Print.
Open the Two-Sided Printing panel.
Select the option to print on both sides.
Select the binding orientation by clicking the appropriate icon.
Change any other settings, and then click Print.

How do I print on both sides of my paper

On printers without a duplexer (a device that flips the paper to allow printing on both sides) you will have to print the first side, manually flip and print the second side. If you're using MS Word or MS Publisher you can easily configure the program to organize the pages for you: Start a new, blank document. -Click File, Page Setup then click the Margins tab. -In the Multiple pages section select Book fold. -Set your document to landscape orientation if it is not already. -In the Inside and Outside boxes, type or select the amount of space you want for your margins. -In the Sheets per booklet list select the number of pages you want to include in a single booklet. If the number of pages in the document exceeds the number of pages you select for a booklet, Word prints the document as multiple booklets. -When you get ready to print make sure you check the manual duplex box (should be in the first dialog box that appears when you click on File, Print). Word will print the first page, and then prompt you to take the pages that just printed and load them into the input tray of your printer. The trick is to learn how to orient the pages correctly for your printer. Good luck.
