I am trying to remove the top cover of a sunbeam CSP1 steam press to rplace the burnt out wires to the temp control .Any ideas Matt

If the GCSBBV-200 is similar to other Sunbeam steam irons, fill the iron when it is cool and unplugged. With the ironing surface flat on the sole plate, set the Steam dial to dry and the Fabric Select dial to Min. Then use an easy-pour measuring cup to pour water into the opening at the top front of the iron. Make sure not to fill past the maximum fill level. (Tip the iron up as if you were resting it between passes with the iron to check the level.)

Have a look at the steam holes in the bottom, they should be nice an clean with no blockage. If they are blocked up you will need to remove the calcium buildup inside the iron. Get some LimeAway at HDepot, pour it into the water reservoir, let sit overnight. Next day turn the iron on and try steaming on some old papers covered with an old rag or towel, once it starts working steam for a few minutes, then unplug, drain it, put in clean distilled water and flush it out until the steam comes out clear. Use distilled water not tap water, it has much less mineral content and will be less likely to plug it up. Most pharmacies and Walmart sell distilled water. ! gallon about $1.25.

How to fill your Sunbeam Steam Valet
Here is how you fill your Steam Valet. Press the small button on the back of the handle and pull bottom of handle apart from the top half of steam valet. Then take off the white cap on the inside of the handle and fill with water to top. Place cap back onto the opening and slide handle back and click in place. Plug in and you're ready to steam within a few minutes. If it spits out water let heat up a little longer if that doesn't stop it then tie a thin cloth over the top part where steam comes out to keep the water from spitting out onto your fabric. I have a Singer steam press Pro-9S, the top plate is loose from the screws holding the hot plate and the cover arm, I like to know how to remove the hot plate cover from the arm to tighten those screws. Thank you.

Your iron will only steam when it has reached the desired tempeture. When the yellow/orange light comes on and the dial has been set for cotton or linen it should steam, when you lower the top and push the steam lever
