Hi and welcome to FixYa I am Kelly.
Somewhere on your mower there is a model number that will look like this:

917.273011 (46 inch)
0r 917.258671 (42 inch)

Without that number I can not get you the correct part numbers or exact parts reference.
Once you locate your model number go to
http://www.searspartsdirect.com
and enter your MODEL number and click GO. You will then be able to order any MOWER DECK parts that you need.
If you want me to look it up reply with your model number and I will find it.

I think your asking about a similar item 13 of this link: (Mandrel)

Motion drive belt shredded. what direction do I turn the pulley bolt on the bottom of the crankshaft under the engine?

It is normally threaded, which is to say it has right hand threads. So you will need to turn left to loosen. You can take a block of wood to brace the blade or use vice grip pliers to block the blade. The blade needs to be immobilized to loosen the bolt.

If this is really helpful for you, please rate four thumbs up.

Always unscrew the bolt in the same direction of blade travel. If the blade travels clockwise, loosen bolt by going clockwise.

42 deck craftsman riding mower. how do you get blades off? md 91721880.

On most riding lawnmowers, you can remove the blades reaching underneath the deck while the deck is set to its highest position. This may not be possible on lawnmowers with three blades; however, most 42 inch mowers have two blades.

The blades are usually held on with either one or two bolts (on each blade). Oftentimes, too, there is a lock washer underneath the bolt.

If you have auto ramps, it might help to push the front end of the mower up on the ramps. This can give you more room to access the blade bolts.

If the blades have not been removed before, those bolts can be on really tight. You might need to use some kind of breaker bar on your wrench to give you more leverage.

Taking off the mower blades on a husqvarna z4824

Sometimes the blade bolts are tight from the factory.Try and lift the front of the mower to get under the deck if you don't want to take the deck off. If you don't have an impact gun use a small piece of 2x4to wedge between the blade and the edge of the mower housing to stop the blade from turning while you use a 5/8 socket on a 1/2 inch breaker bar or large ratchet, be careful you don't slip and cut yourself on the blades, wear gloves and when reinstalling blades be sure to align the star hole in blade with the star on the blade mandrel

Cannot remove blades for sharpening removed the center bolt from the blade that goes into the shaft and could not get the blades off the shaft Do I need to take a sledge hammer to it?

Spray the blade/shaft top and bottom with WD40, etc.,and let soak for awhile. Take a pipe wrench, as large as you can get under the deck, and place on edge of blade about 4 inches from shaft. Use the wrench as a fulcrum to pivot the blade off. If needed do both sides of blade until it lets loose. Hope this helps...

Engage blades makes noises

Sounds like the bearings are going out in one or both of your blade spindles. With the belt off,(and engine, of course) engage the lever on the dash. That will release the blade brake so the blades will be free to turn. Spin each one by hand. It will be easy to tell if the bearings are bad.
