Question about Computers & Internet
I had my new Gateway Vista computer for 15 days when my device listed above stopped working. I get error message 39 from my computer. I replaced the device with another DVD RW and got the same message. Is there anything that I can do to get this working. I have an OPTIARC Dvd RW AD-7173 A ATA deivce that I can throw in if that would be better but so far nothing. Mircosoft told me to roll back the driver but that is not an option that I'm given. If you need more info you can write me and ask.
Try replacing your cable or at least unplugging it on both sides then plugging it back in.
Go to your system properties under control panel and uninstall the driver pertaining to your interface. When you reboot it will ask you to reinstall. Sometimes it will start reinstalling right away. That's fine. There is no rollback for just a driver. It's a system rollback they were talking about.
If problem persists with functional cables and functional drive then it's probably your motherboard.
