Out of control computer!

Since my employer switched to Office 2007, my computer seems to be possessed. When I'm working, the computer takes over trying to perform it's own tasks. The screen freezes and I have to wait it out. How can I turn off this features. It's driving me nuts!

If th3e computer types on its own then it is the voice activation. There should be an icon on the task bar. Turn off voice activation.

Here are some things to try:

    1. In the Microsoft Windows XP Control Panel, click Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices, and then click Speech. In the Windows 2000 Control Panel, double-click the Speech icon.
    2. Click the Speech Recognition tab.
    3. Under Language, select a speech recognition engine.

On the Language bar, click Microphone .

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I need a MS Office 2007 product key...

If you purchased a legal copy, you should have the product key. It is not legal to use Office without purchasing the software. However, good luck getting someone online to provide a product key. Depending on where you work, you may be able to buy a cheap (and I mean CHEAP) license to use office. Where I work they have a home user program and I purchased Office for 10 dollars. Check with your employer.

I am a new hire, and they had already had Microsoft Office Professional 2007 when I started. I downloaded to my computer and it asked for the product ket which i typed in. After a couple times of using it....

Microsoft Office Professional (the 2007 version) only allows a certain number of installations before you have to buy additional licenses. If it was installed on another computer that isn't using the software anymore you can uninstall the software from that computer and you should be able to enter the product key and use the software fully. If you are not able to do that, you will have to contact Microsoft for an additional license. The additional license will be the same as purchasing the software again, and you can download it right from the website. Sometimes you can just enter the new product key and on the already installed software and that will work without going through the lengthy download process. Your employer should know how many computers the software was installed on. The newer version isn't like the older ones that you could install as many times as necessary.

This is the about page of Microsoft Office 2007 (Microsoft® Office Word 2007 (12.0.6212.1000) SP1 MSO (12.0.6213.1000)) I?ve used your codes and countless others and none seem to work. I am working...

If you installed Office 2007, it configures itself as the program to be used to "open" any 'DOC' files.

If Word 2000 is still installed, start it.
Then, use 'File' and 'Open' to select & read your file from your USB flash-drive.

Office Pro 2007 Components take 5-10 minutes to open

There seems to be remmants of the previous version still in the register.
  1. Make sure you have uninstalled Office 2005
  2. Backup the registry
  3. Search and remove all instances of Office 2005 (Google "free registry cleaners")
Let me know if any of these helped. If not I have some other options

Acer e-mail and encrytion problems

OTHER computers can only open Office documents if they also have the same version of office or a HIGHER (newer) version (backward compatibilitiy)
Office 2007 doc can open ONLY with Office 2007.
Both computers must have Office 2007.

But if you have Office 2007 you can open any OLDER Office doc (Office 2003, Office XP, etc.)
If much older, (Office 95 or earlyier) there is a conversion program to open the older version with a newer version.
