I want to install my Lexmark z22 on our laptop

From time to time they will upgrade the computer software, so check to c if you have the right one for your operation system. And if you do just try install and reinstall the software again.

Not compatible or not working well with windows 7?

Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver/application you installed is for other versions of operating system. I am also using windows 7 like you so don't you worry, You can still use your old installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Just remember that before installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer/application first, then choose "troubleshoot compatibility". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.:D rate and vote for me:))

Download the driver from the lexmark website located here.

After you download it then go into the add printer wizard and install the driver from there.

Try the following check-lists

1.Initially ensure correct drivers are installed in the operating system you are using .This can be checked by seeing in the device manager or in the control panel-->printers and drivers option.

If drivers are correctly installed you will the printer symbol in printer options with the name of the printer.

Right click the printer and give test page as print

If the print is not working check whether the power cables and connecting cables are good.

Check the indicators in the printer does it shows any warning.if you have manual of printer you can verify from it

You could try going to lexmark.com and see if tey have any way of doing it on line otherwise you may have to purchase a disc from them. Most printers you can get updates and drivers (sometimes) on line otherwise you need the actual disc to install the printers on your computer.

The Z22 does not appear on Lexmarks vista compatability list and so there is no specific vista driver.
There is a driver for Windows XP which you could try

Select Z22 as printer model and search
then choose windows XP from the list of operating systems

I would assume if your printer was hooked up to that high a voltage you would need to buy a replacement part for the power supply. Lexmark website states to replace it with a "Class 2" 20 volt dc at 500ma. Basically you just need to contact Lexmark and get the part and have a printer specialist install the new power supply. You could also try another power cable as well. Sometimes the cable is just fried and nothing is wrong with the printer.

Was the cartridges lexmark factory replacements or was they generic replacement cartridges.

If they are generic cartridges you might want to buy lexmark cartridges because some generic cartridges will not work in some printers

The spooler service can be started following these directions.
Go to start
Go to run
In the open box type: <cmd> without <>
When the command prompt opens
type: net start spooler <Enter>
This should say that the spooler has started successfully.

Jess01: A driver is basically a communication device between your print device, which is your hardware "meaning can touch it" and printer software that is the language that your print device and computer can read. Your USB cable let's the computer know that your printer is connected. The software is needed so the printer has the language to be able to print what you tell it to.

Scroll down the page 'til you find Lexmark Z22 Color Jet Printer
To the right you will see "download"
Click the link.
Scroll to the bottom you should see "Please enter verification code"
Type the code in and click "download"
Click save.
The software should then be downloaded to your computer.
Go to the location you saved the printer drivers.
There should be a setup file.
Click on that.
The printer should then be recognized and you should be prompted that the printer is going to print a test page.

Use the Vista pre-installed Lexmark Z22-32 ColorJet printer driver. If that does not work, use the Lexmark Z12 ColorJet printer driver, listed below the previous driver.
