Looking for Internal Wireless card for Aver Travelmate 2301

I would like to install a 802.11 g wireless card in my Ace Travelmate 2301LC. I believe a have found the slot. But I do not know the ACER part number or where I can purchase it.

Is it a Mini PCI or Mini PCI Express standard?.

Or is an ACER 802.11n card available for the 2301LC?

Upgrade your memory because 256 will not cut it! You have to share 64mb with your video and makes it smaller.
DDR333 SDRAM standard, upgradeable to 2048 MB
with dual soDIMM modules

ctrl+shift+esc will show you

Your expansion card type: Type I/II PC Card Slot

I have a laptop running 802,11 g/b and vista and I Cant connect to linksys wag160n wireless router(802,11 n). laptop sometimes recognises network but when I try to connect it wont. could you help ?

Hi, You cannot connect across wireless protocols. In other words to connect to 802.11 n you need an "n" adapter.

Now, the router should be backward compatible & provide wireless g/b but you may find that when you search for networks it will be listed as a seperate network name (from the same router)

Try searching for this other network. Your router documentation should advise you of its default name & any set up process

My wireless network card needs a new driver?

I have actually experienced this before and surprisingly, it turned out to be a hardware fault with my built-in wireless device. I had to resort eventually to one of those USB plug-in wifi dongles. They cost less than ten bucks, and if you don't need the range, come in "nano" sizes that protrude less than half an inch when installed. Do disable the internal wifi device, either in device manager or better still, in the bios if using this solution.

I have a acer travelmate 3000 laptop and cant get my wireless to work, if i plug in a new wirless usb stick it works fine but i wont the internal wireless to work, does this mean my internal wireless card...

Odds are pretty good the wireless is not enabled.

If you look at page three item three of the manual, it shows the button/indicator on the front of the system to enable wireless.

Wireless TravelMate 2410 Series Laptop

right click on My Computer and choose properties, select the Hardware tab click on device manager, navigate through the list to the wireless adapter, if it has a yellow (!) by it, it could be you need drivers, if not right click on the device and click enable or use this device. if it is enabled, disable it, say okay to the pop up window and restart your system. 9 out of 10 times this fixes it

There are a few things you need to check. Has it been going before? Is this the first time you have had it going? Is it installed have you switched it all on. Are you in range of one?.
