Help!! Our unit is draining on the inside and dripping on the floor, it has stopped draining outside. We have been running the ceiling fan a little while unit was running I do not know if that had something to do with the problem. Thanks, Debbie

Looks like your condensate line has either come loose, or it may have a restriction in the line somewhere.

Ac unit isn't blowing

It sounds like your freezing up at the coil, which in turn, blocks airflow across coil and only a small amount of air comes out of the vents. This also explains the cold air coming from fan on the outside unit, since the system cannot absorb the heat from the inside of the house through the coil. Your air outside is usually blowing out warm to hot air because thats the heat it rejects out of your system. I would turn the thermostat to "OFF" and turn just the fan setting to "ON" instead of Auto, this thaws the system out faster. Give it time to fully thaw, make sure filters are clean, and check airflow. If airflow is back to normal, your problem is more than likely the charge of refrigerant. If you have to call a technician out, make sure the unit is not frozen at all before they get there, they would not be able to do anything with the system froze. Hope this helps and good luck!

My unit is throwing water out of the front vents not a lot. It sound like the fan blade is hitting water It still cools but makes a loud noise .R bordeaux

The water and noise you hear is from the fan blades hitting backed up water in the drip pan. This occurs when the drain hole near the rear of the drain pan is clogged and/or the rear of the unit does not have enough downward tilt. Which allows the water to flow freely to the drain hole. The general rule of thumb for downward tilt is 1/4" to 1/2". Correcting these to things should solve the problem. Be sure to turn the unit OFF & Unplug it, before attempting remedial service work on the unit.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

My Kenmore window ac unit cools ok but makes a clicking/clacking sound while it runs. The cooling fan turns properly and it drains outside but has started to drain a little inside-it is angled to drain...

From everything you described, it sounds like more water than usual is collecting in the drip fan. Despite the unit draining out the rear drain hole. Check the drain hole to make sure it is totally clear and not partially clogged. A pipe cleaner works well to do this. Be sure to turn the unit OFF & unplug it, before working on it.

Hope this helped you and tanks for choosing FixYa.

Condensation water is not draining properly on Goldstar AC window unit and backing up and dripping on the wood frame and floor below the unit. Is something blocked it just started happening. I am going...

Yes,remove the ac unit from the window, and clean it out with a water hose out side, remove all debris from inside the unit, and tilt water out of unit.Make sure there is nothing in the way of the drain, and when the unit is put back in the window, make sure it has a very good tilt outward so the water will for sure flow outside, not in.If this was helpful, please rate, thank you.

The ac is dripping inside the room

Hello.
You need to clean out the drain pan. Also unit shold be tilted back a little so water will run outside.

Remove the front grill and using an old tooth brush clean out the bottom pan where water is laying. Also be sure the drian hole outside the unit is clear.

I have a unit in the attic and another part outside. I can stand inside under the ceiling vent and hear water running. When the unit cuts off, the water sound quits. I'm afraid something is not draining...

Sounds like your drain has sagged from the heat in the attic. It then backs up in the pan and sloshes around from the air moving. Get up there and see if that is the case, if so support the drain line so water runs freely to outside. This is an experienced guess. Good luck!

Dripping water from pan or coils

If the a-coil is on the suction side of the blower, the drain line needs to be trapped. take enough hose to make a circle below the drain fitting and then into the drain. The blower causes a suction up the drain line if it is not trapped and will not let the water go out the hose.

Do i have to install my fedders aeq07f2bg on an angle to let the water drain out

It is a good idea to have the rear just slightly lower than the front edge to prevent water (condensate) from dripping inside.

However, most window a/c's use the heat from the unit along with the fan to dispel the water out the back and/or sides of the a/c outside the house.

If you do have the a/c tilted just back a bit, it should prevent any surprises and puddles on the floor, if you leave the a/c running when you're not home, etc.

Hope this helps and best regards!

GE Zoneline PTAC Leaking

Hi Julie,
Is this a newly installed unit? The problem sounds like the sleeve is improperly installed. The sleeve should slope approximately 1/4 inch downward from inside to outside. This way the water will run to the back of the pan where it will be picked up by the slinger fan, or drain to the outside. Most likely this is the cause, not the styrofoam pan. If you need further info, you can contact me at greg.mcnary(at)airdistributors.com (replace (at) with @) and I can get you detailed installation instructions.
